Epacy got his car for $500 off, and another dealer on here was trying to get rid of their demo car for $500 off too, and i think they even went to $1000 off.

For whatever it's worth, I technically ended up getting $258 off by refusing to pay for the documentation fee. My CA says they will charge the fee but discount the car by that amount.

Either way, MSRP and possibly discounts will be soon. One of the main dealers here in SF, took the snob route and did not want to match prices with rival dealers; and conversely wait until the release date to accept bids. Now they have 3 coupes and 1 sedan sitting on their lot as of today. They have not sold "one" M3 since the release date, as they will not budge on the absurd dealer markup. Ironically enough, they are now offering to match my current price; however I would have to wait until June to receive my car....um why, when my current order arrives in a few weeks, lol. Anyhow, discounts or MSRP will be soon for those that unfortunately couldn't achieve a price today they were happy with. For the record, IMO, the lack of demand is simply correlated to the current economy and market uncertainty; not the lack of interest in the M3.

That's what I thought. I have been living in Florida for about 2 years now and I have never a worse place for pricing than here. The problem is alot of people pay sticker or above sticker and the dealerships think everyone will pay this. Anyway, I know the M3's are on lots everywhere so you could get them down a bit.

You should start seeing discounts shortly after the lines dry up at dealerships. I would call several dealerships anonymously and ask them if they have a line. If not, they will most likely negotiate somewhat. I assume that is how Epacy was able to get 2% off; he probably found a dealership that did not have people lined up.
