E92 factory build, need advice, oh wise ones....

Basic e92 factory build, what would you do? Experienced e92 owners...
I have an opportunity to build an e92 to my taste/an ordered car.
Need some advice from you e9x wise ones, please.

I am trying to keep the price mid 60k, I am on a budget as I am turning over the Z4M-R.
I plan to order IB, carbon leather trim, black lthr.
Comp package
Manual tranny
Heated seats
That's it!!

Will I regret not getting the premium sound?
Anything else?
Many thanks!
I have a day or two to lock it in...

I never use the stereo in this car. Only the m3 and s2000, of the cars I've owned, were entertaining enough and sounded nice enough to make the stereo irrelevant (though in all honesty the s2000 was so loud, and the stereo so terrible, that it wouldn't have mattered anyway).

I'd skip the fancy audio, personally. Good choice on 6MT. If I was building up an m3, I would probably add an M performance exhaust, but that's not for everybody.

I've got Premium sound, Indy, and no, you won't miss it that much, it's nice to have, but not necessary and you can go aftermarket in the future for that $1900 price easily.

I always suggest to everyone, build and spec the car out with as many options as your budget allows bc when resale time comes the more options you have on the car the better IMO

you should get rid of leather and go speed cloth if you're going for the stripper look. speed cloth is sooo unique

I had carbon leather trim with black leather. It was a lot of black. I ended up hating it as there was no contrast in the cabin. Just sayin.

I really like the speed cloth, but If you have little kids in the car and they happend to spill something on it, I can see it being a pain to clean up. I have BB exteneded leather and love it but after two years its a bit of a pain to keep clean. Though I dont make a habit of letting my little ones drink in it, the leather has been really easy to give a quick wipe down if any unforseen spills take place ie: pee ( I have a three year old who at times has had a little accident after drinking to much

I love the contrast I've got with the black dash in the cabin with my silver extended leather and brushed stainless trim.

It's rare and you would never see it on the showroom floor, but the titanium shadow trim is actually pretty cool.

I ended up ordering aluminium as well. It has a bluish hue in certian light which makes it interesting.

Agreed - if you have little ones leather is the way to go.

The little kiddies, and you, will appreciate the Power Rear Sunshade. It's relatively cheap and adds a lot IMHO. Good luck!

I have speed cloth and 2 small kids and it is not an issue, and I love the look. You need contrast in the cabin and agree with the aluminum trim, I actually bought one from a BMWCCA member and it looks sweet. But then I changed my mind again and have the interior trim wrapped in white carbon fiber matching the car's AW exterior color. I have the base stereo with the 10 speakers and it is great, used the savings for the AA signature exhaust. Can not comment on Comp since my is a 09. So basically, I have no options and love it.....

I would skip the comp package ($2500) and sell the OEM 18" wheels ($1500ish). Use the savings towards coilovers and aftermarket wheels.

Ordered my 13 in IB with 6spd, ZCP and Speed cloth. Love every minute of it. Added clear bra; M Perf Exhaust is next. Wife does bitch about no heated seats but I live in the south.

You are in the business and I trust know best but imho stripper cars both DCT and 6spd will be most desired 5 plus years from now. Less to maintain, less weight, less distractions equals more pure driving. If it is an everyday car i say load it up but if it is a toy or a long term keeper strip it down.
