It did . But the driver lost it . If the M3 is obviously superior to the IS-F in one area, it's at the track, especially with just one lap, where the superior (at least in fade resistance) Brembo brakes didn't provide an advantage. I was surprised the M3 won all others, but it was a nice surprise . Even Tanner's cheating wasn't enough to win .

Wonder what excuses IS-F board members came up with . And noticed the broadcast didn't show the IS-F's breakdown?

Come to think of it, the IS-F was hanging so close to the M3 in the road course, I even think Paul Tracy was sand bagging to give Tanner the win.

Then you should factor in, the M3 had competition package on it.

Even if you look at the Japanese Best Motoring videos of M3 versus IS-F around Tsukuba circuit (there were 3 track competitions), this is how it looked.

The track portion of the show is just STUPID.
They should do a time attack format to see which one is faster. They could even switch drivers so they both drive both cars to even things out.
Tanner dropped an egg in the middle of the esses and cheated again. The only difference was he won this one after cheating.
He even said, "when you have to slower car, you have to cheat."
I thought it was ironic when the host mentioned that Tanner own's an M3.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

That video pretty much sums up what I have found with the M3 and the IS-F.

The IS-F is very good - but the M3 is great.

My thoughts exactly. I think Lexus did a good first attempt with the ISF I'd rate it 9/10 but the M3 is defined to be the 10/10 benchmark and these road tests simply serve to further substantiate that notion.

I hear lexus tweaked the suspension for the 2011 ISF and supposedly made it faster around the track, but I am more interested in seeing the next generation ISF 2 or 3 years down the road. A few years of tuning and tweaking the ISF will be good for Lexus and hopefully it will show with the next generation ISF. Maybe take some of the knowledge learned from building the LFA and put it into the ISF, things could be interesting.

Until then, I'll take an M3 please. It is the pinnacle of luxury sport perfection.

Enjoyed this video so much, not sure if it was the M3 winning or the japanese banter that I could not understand (no japanese were harmed). Glad that the M3 won in both videos tho, makes me wanna go drive to the store for no reason but to drive!

A Lexus is a rebadged Toyota.

The BMW M3 is the best car ever built.

If an M3 ever loses a race or a comparison test it is only because the competition cheated.

the track would have def been won by the m3....i mean cmon it even had zcp which makes the car even greater on the track. im suprised it won the other events with such a bad driver ( meaning he didnt know how to drive the car properly) but the m3 pulled ahead first. goes to show what an awesome car we drive

i agree. actually in stock form, the LFA is the best sounding car from inside the cabin or from outside. cgt is too tame from inside with stock exaust compare to the lfa. vanquish is not even close.

list to this and show me another car in stock form that sounds this close to f1. it just sound even more epic from the driver seat which is the most important to me.

to other posters, r8 v10? shouldn't even be in the same company doesn't matter if the r8 can come close on the track or not. it's like saying mustang v8 match the m3 on the track, so the m3 is overpriced and i would only want to pay 35k for it. the interior of the lfa makes most supercar interiors looks like a joke. look at the fit/finish/quality of this thing.

So much insecurity on this site.

If anyone here really thinks that the F would lose as badly as it did in a straight line....or that the F would actually be the winner on the track...as the show portrayed....they really need to get off their knees and quit fellating the roundel.

No it was a red coupe for some strange reason. Did not get a chance to see the wheels to figure out if it is ZCP, but I think it was. Not too sure about the transmission either since I did not hear any shifts to determine if it was 6MT. Tanner was driving the blue IS-F and Tracy was driving the red M3 coupe and Tanner was shown.
You mean lease one? According to Lexus, you have to lease it for 2 yrs, like Ferrari did with the F50, and at the end you can decide to "buy" it.

Care to explain the highlighted portion???

There were only 10 allocated to all of Canada so I'd wager there aren't 3 coming to our local market??? As well, they aren't for sale so nobody "bought one cash up front"???

There are a few guys on the Lexus forums that are on the list and have discussed it at lenghth, but your portrayal doesn't seem realistic. Please clarify.
