Toyota did pretty well for cars considered as shitbox back in the 70s. Knocking on the doors of the mighty M3 now in 2010. 10 years ago this competition wouldn't even occur, people would be laughing in their graves.
What's scary is now Hyundai is ready to step up. Samsung and LG has already taken over electronics. Will be see M3. vs Sonata type S in 2020?

You also send me the information about both of these cars since you seem to know so much about them. Its amazing how manu people just assume things without knowing SHIT about the cars they talk about. These cars anre YEARS away and you speak like you know the lexus is going to be better because the new M3 with be a turbo 6. Logic I can not nor ever will understand.

Its amazing that you say that since you drive neither. I was speaking on a general basis btw - the true M characteristic will be lost IMO once it goes turbo. I am no Lexus fan whatsoever, but I do respect the fact they are developing these engines specifically for their F line, as BMW once did for their Ms. |

I would never pay that much for the LF-A but that doesn't mean it isn't worth it. It's like the Playstation 3 which was more expensive than its competition and people were outraged at the price when it first came out but it actually cost Sony even more than the retail price to make the console. Lexus was willing to lose money on these 500 LF-As if it meant they could make a truly remarkable car that will further legitimize the Lexus brand in the performance car world. |

Not too familiar with stock supra performance. Stock for stock E36M3 couldn't hold its own against a stock supra?

First, nobody is "buying" one. They are only available for lease for the first 2 years, in order to keep collectors from snapping them up or speculators trying to flip them for a profit. Second, having the cash is only a very small part of the equation. Lexus actually did an extensive application/interview process and selected the owners. There are a few guys on the Lexus sites that have been chosen (and a few more that applied and didn't get picked) that have walked everyone through the process step by step. |

Nowadays, Supra Turbos are more or less legendary in modified form, making anywhere from 450 HP (pretty much base aftermarket tune) to over 1000 HP. They say the stock bottom end is good for well over 600 HP with no problems. There is a joke about them, however. "What do 400 HP, 700 HP and 1,000 HP Supras have in common?" "Twelve second time slips." Traction is a major issue. You'll see them out on the highway, however, running "from a roll" as they say. Deadly out there. |

[QUOTE=Cdnrockies;8253153]I agree with what you said wholeheartedly, but wanted to clarify a couple of things.
First, nobody is "buying" one. They are only available for lease for the first 2 years, in order to keep collectors from snapping them up or speculators trying to flip them for a profit. Second, having the cash is only a very small part of the equation. Lexus actually did an extensive application/interview process and selected the exactly, and still there are complains about price from those who can't afford it. |

The LFA is trulely a amazing car. Lexus doesn't even make a profit from selling that car for that price. That cars rpm gauge is digital becuase a normal analog one can't keep up. But the sad sad thing is your paying for a Lexus. For the same price you can get a ferarri. :/ this car was built just to push the envelope. Period.

Agree with you completely. The Supra is fast and to this day, I dare not to mess with them.
