PLEASE DELETE BEFORE ANYONE ELSE CRIES ABOUT THIS THREAD! I just installed a tecnocraft envy system in my M3 and now my hood won't close. Anyone know if the hood latch can be adjusted?

there are 3 latches on the hood. which one is not closing? did you bolt everything back up properly? I wouldn't mess with the hood first because if you open the latch more you will get more gap from the bumper and it could possibly not lock properly and fly open on the highway.

It's the center latch, I was thinking there might be a way to adjust that spring but do far no luck.

Garage List
Adjusting the latch isn't the issue.

Double check and make sure the intake is sitting where is suposed to be, don't try to adjust the hood you might end up with uneven gaps.

Don't change the latch. It was fine before. Now it's not. Return the intake before you mess with the hood. The hood gap is pretty horrendous from the factory, don't exacerbate the problem.

Ok so I figured it out. The Tecnocraft envy scoops that are attached to the piece closest to the front bumper is slightly bigger than stock. That being said, the hood latches on the left and right would not completely close. The fix is this for anyone that cares..... Each of the hooks on the actual bumper can be adjusted if you remove the black portion with the screw holding it to the hood. Once you remove the black piece holding the d-shaped ring to the hood, the d-shaped ring can be screwed clockwise or counter-clockwise to make them longer or shorter and thus allowing the hood to close. I only had to do one full turn on each to get them to latch correctly and the gap that everyone is referring to didn't change enough for me to notice.

It's good to have for the future...provided that people who need it in the future search for it. That's probably asking too much though.

Anyway, glad you got it sorted OP.

I didn't get any input prior to figuring it out so no I guess not. It's always nice to see a smart ass on here who provides no useful advice. Keep up the good fight buddy! Don't look at the thread if you don't want to read it. Pretty simple.
