Does your tecnocraft fit perfectly?
hey
so i installed my tecnocraft intake a month or so back and it never fully fit 100%, ie there a few little gaps that do not lineup 100%...air doesnt seem to be getting in or out, but when u look between the chargepipe and manifold for instance, it isnt perfectly straight . the front scoops as well i also noticed the engine bay being dirtier than i remember.. could just be the recent sand from the end of winter etc..

Also, in IMO, if the proper seal is NOT created, dust particles and other small debris could potentially get sucked into the engine. Not good. Other then that, I give technocraft 2 thumbs up. |

the gap on the charge pipe may have long term consequences on the engine.
It seemed that tecnocraft was in a rush to recover the costs and not enough research on done. They need to come up with a better solution on the fitment issue for both previous and future customers, otherwise it will definitly have negative impacts on their company's reputation as a CF specialist. |

come on ... we are talking about hardware and significant gaps. in case you like to solve design-flaws, continue with the electrical tape method. i would not install any hardware on my S65 engine with the need of electrical tape to solve engineering / fabrication issues.

e.n.335 - unfortunately, before I knew about how the charge pipe would fit, I already paid for the piece. And, I agree with you 100%. If technocraft cares about their reputation as a CF specialist they should mos def do something to improve on their current design for future and current customers. Functionality of the charge pipe is great tho. |

That's just DUMB for a company to sell something that the client needs to patch up with tape of all things!

these problems have been known about for a while so I don't know why anyone would still buy them. Plus, there was that whole issue about the charge pipe losing power and the member even showed his dyno test. $1600 is a lot of dough for what is essentially a cosmetic mod to the engine bay. Niqui, you should have done a before and after dyno to see if the rumor is true.

+5...I had one. Fit like crap, no doubt the car lost power because of the fitment...Took it off after a day and a half.

Heat soak is what really kills the techno intake system. This system actually lets in hotter air than stock intake system...all this add up to a lighter wallet and less power.

btw is your US$ 0,02 worth more than my KZT 0,02 ? Thats Kazakhstan Tenge (1KZT=$0,0064) On a technical note, I had the Techno craft stuff for 5 days, then got a SC. I didnt use the connecting pipe as it did not seal nicely onto the air box. Rather keep that stock, looks better IMO and works better to |
