Note: Prices may be off. Some prices are introductory prices, some are estimated prices before production, some are MSRP... I have zero interest in keeping track of prices as they fluctuate (across time and across vendors).

- Please refrain from starting up discussions about specific exhausts.
- Links to the manufacturer/performance line are in blue.
- Links to the primary distributor are in green.

I'd like to keep this as useful as possible. Suggestions, corrections, comments are all helpful.

This is an excellent consolidated offering. Can someone please point me in the right direction here. I have a 2011 M3 with Competition package ( minus performance exhaust ).

I want to add better sound, torque and HP. I was going to add a Sosi X pipe and delete the secondary cats. To provide more torque and HP. Additionally, I was going to add intake to increase / support torque and HP.

Is this the best bang for my dollar? Will I have any type of smell from adding X pipe and deleting secondary cats?

Suggestions?

Best bang for your buck would probably be test pipes and a tune. You really need to reduce the restriction in the primary cats to free up the extra power and it should give you a bit more volume to the exhaust note, but I'm not sure on that.

I've been recently thinking about doing the OEM exhaust mod. Does anyone know a good shop in Vegas, that does that?

Megan Racing Exhaust

I just installed a Megan Racing exhaust on my e92. I installed it myself at a "Do-It-Yourself" garage. They provide the lift and all the tools you need, and you pay 40/hr for the use. It took me two hours to take the old OEM exhaust off and put the new one on, with no help. It was pretty easy- I have no automotive experience whatsoever, just watched a couple youtube videos. I'm very happy with the exhaust sound and the look, especially for the price.

I'm interested in selling the OEM muffler and pipes (from resonators to muffler, all single piece). I live in Houston, so a local buyer would be best. Please PM me with an offer.

Looking for a video that shows me how loud the exhaust would be with primary cats deleted/test pipes AND OEM Exhaust MOD (particularly any of the 2 to 4 pipe replacements)

This is the only one I can find which helps but ideally I'd find more to really see how much louder it would get from just having test pipes alone.

I tried to research, but could not find posts about the Fabspeed Sport Catalytic Converters. If I were to replace the primary cats with their Sport catalytic converters, run a OEM x-pipe and MPE rear section, will I:
1. Pass NY inspection without additional software?
2. Hear any drone?

Thank you for your input.

Recent exhaust mods (this year)...
Now that I hear them, much more fun to shift!
(Corsa on M3, e46; Magnaflow on Z3)
Great sounding exhausts are key to the fun driving stick.

Phil From Fabspeed here,
You should not have an issue with passing NY emissions as long as you keep the Sport Cats and you should not throw a CEL.

As long as you keep the stock resonator that should help keep the resonator in there.

I'm about to do the OEM exhaust mod... I'm going back and forth between doing the 2.5 or the 4 pipe mod... Anyone care to sway me in one direction or another? Its a Daily Driver, I don't want anything too terribly loud/obnoxious, but on the flip side, I dont want to be disappointed with 2.5 not being enough of a difference.. Hard to tell from all of the videos online.. plus, if I do cats later for power gains, is one preferable?
