Aftermarket exhaust and the DAILY Driver
Dilema here. I want aftermarket exhaust but I think the Eisenmann sport and the Dinan are a little on the quiet side... doesn't really get the juices flowing much more than stock...while the Eisenmann race or AA (without going too loud) definitely do the trick.
My M3 is my daily driver, if it wasn't I'd probably just put pipes straight off the head... ... but getting serious, I have some questions that need opinion or answers:
I've heard and looked at all the video comparisons, but as we all know, a video doesn't always do an exhaust system justice one way or the other. Any feedback on the above would be great. Thanks |

[QUOTE=DevJ;7160295]With Einsenmann Race or AA, can one still utilize the bluetooth and/or voice command features without too much interference from the exhaust sound under normal driving conditions? Yes, but some people think that these exhausts are too much for a daily drivers, others don't QUOTE]
Thanks for your input. With the above, yes I agree. But simply from an operational standpoint, do the features still work... and how well compared to with stock exhaust. I see how this seems like an opinion question, I didn't mean for it to be. I've posted on a regional forum... There's a large car meet coming up soon and hoping to get some more info there too. |

You will not have any problem using the bluetooth with either the dinan or AA catback alone. I have no knowledge of the eisenmann race set-up. I don't use the voice commands so not sure about that.

Meistershaft GTC system. With the valves closed on this exhaust, it sounds like a stock system. With valves open, its WOW.....

I had the same concerns. My thought for going with Eisenmann Sport was if I felt it was not loud enough, I can always get an X-pipe. (Vs having to sell it and get the race). So far I'm pretty happy with it but I'd be lying if I said I havn't thought about making it louder at times.
Dev's right though. The best is to listen to it in person (if you can). If I get an X-pipe, I definitely want to check it out in person before I commit. Good luck.

Dinan!
If you ever want to increase your hp/tq output via HFC's/xipe, then you'll want a quieter rear section...otherwise if you add a loud rear section with HFC/xpipe...you're going to be so loud you won't be able to hear yourself think...however, some really like that kind of thing. So, to each his own... |

Why not just get a resonated X-pipe or even non resonated with HFC? More power, more noise and no drone... per people who have done it.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

I just put on my Dinan paired with the gintani x-pipe and I have to say it is much louder than what I was expecting.

ER and my bluetooth work just fine together at normal driving speeds. I was talking with a coworker once while blasting down a rural backroad once however, and he asked if I was really raising that much hell or just watching a movie though.....

Gotta pay to play IMO.
This is GT HAUS' website so you know the pricing: http://gthaus.com/ehselect.php I think Status Autoworks can get you a good deal on them since they are the first ones to get the first production piece on the GTC. Here's another member that got his: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=377422 Ed Lin

Thanks for all the input everyone. There's so many good exhausts out there, now I just need to go hear them for myself. At least now I have a better direction though. I'm still leaning Eisenmann Race I think; just love the sound of that thing.

I don't have any Bluetooth issues with my Eisenmann Race/Riss Racing mid-pipe setup.

There are nearly as many opinions here regarding exhaust as forum members.
I had a similar dilemma about the AA signature exhaust than you have. I wanted more "noise" on the track but not in the hospital parking garage. I use the M3 as my DD from March to November. The AA rear section on it's own is not loud at all. Around 3-5000rpm it is like stock. It is so not loud that now I consider the AA X-pipe with cats. |
