I hate MS Xbox rant and help

My son who begged for 360 finally saved his $$$ got one. Stupid thing does not come with a wireless adapter (unlike our PS3).

Anyway...what other wireless adapters work?? He ready to play on Live (again FREE on PS3) but stuck until I get this fixed...

I refuse to give MS a $100 for a $1 wireless adapter. I already tried a Belkin G that I had lying around and it didn't work...

I EFFING HATE MS...

if the xbox is anywhere close to the router you can just buy a 100/50 foot ethernet cable and plug it in if you are THAT opposed to buying the adapter. If not...

Usually Gamestop will have a used one for probably 15%-25% off. You could also do what I did. When my adapter broke (bought it new for $100), I bought a wireless adapter for $30 off a guy who listed it on Craigslist.

thanks for the help...the xbox is no where near the router so I cannot connect directly....BUT his computer is nearby...it has a wireless car and network card...so I am going to enable sharing on his computer and plug the 360 into his network card...i think that will work...i hope...

not to start a flame session, but PS3's online is HORRIBLE compared to 360(the reason its free), there games dont compare in quailty with the XBOX, but the hardware is better....i love my xbox...oh and if he is playing games that require split second reactions, like halo 3 and COD 5, the wireless will be horrible for them...no connection better than wired

You're gona hate MS more once you want to buy something from the Xbox Live marketplace. You have to purchase stuff using "MS Points" instead of just being able to charge the full amount on your credit card. They force you to buy increments of points; so if a game costs lets say 1200 points, you have to buy 1000 points and then a separate 500 points. This leaves you with a useless 300 points just sitting in your acct while making you pay more than you would have just to purchase it normally. This becomes a real nuisance after a while.

Nathan Drake and Kratos say hi. XBox live is a better online service in its uniformity and ease of access but online gaming on it is exactly the same as it is on PSN. Call of Duty 4 plays exactly the same on XBox as it does on PS3. When the PS3 came out, yes you're right XBox games were better than PS3 games....now the tide has turned. Sony's first party exclusives are just owning Microsoft's this year.

It comes down to preference in the end. You can say XBox Live has 8 member cross game party chat and better dashboard access and I can say PSN has a much more welcoming policy towards new and unique content and no limit on store download sizes which allows for better User Generated Content policies (see painting cars on Forza2 vs. 1million unique user levels on LittleBigPlanet) and better and more original downloadable games.

You can have Twitter and Facebook customized for XBox or the next downloadable game in the PixelJunk series. People have their own preferences. Live is the better service but if that's the only edge if offers anymore then the $50 a year really isn't worth it. Especially when you still have to pay (IN ADDITION TO the annual fee) to buy games, movies etc. You only pay to play games. Sony lets you do it for free.

I didn't really play halo until H3, that's why my original account is terrible. That's my excuse for that, but the other account has like 70 games, so we'll see how that turns out.

For sure. With my new router and it being closer to the 360, ethernet cable all the way. Major difference.

I hate my 360, paying for live every month is ridiculous and so is its lack of features. I use the PS3 so much more and would have seriously considered trashing the 360 if it wasn't for Forza.

Better than the Wee, i guess.
