Estoril/Monte Carlo/Atlantis blues?
I've tried searching and the best I get is a picture of paint samples in a German dealer. I'm considering paying stupid money for a proper blue on an F80 M3 be Estoril has been my absolute favorite color. From what I've seen Monte Carlo and estoril are basically the same, but why have two names. And Atlantis I've seen in INDs photos of a few cars which look incredible. I'd love to see Atlantis in person so if there is anyone with a car in south FL I'd love to come to a meet and check it out, but even a picture of the cars next to each other in the same light would help decide. I figure if I'm paying $5k for a color it may as we'll be something more special than a standard color on the 3/4 series. It still boggles my mind how each time I've wanted estoril, literally since the E36 M3, I haven't been able to get it for various reasons...
Anyway, any help or pics would be highly appreciated! I posted here bc there are a ton of individual cars on this forum.

They're all different. Should be easy to see Estoril and mcb at a BMW dealer. Atlantis has a teal tone to it....I.m not a fan. Estoril wins IMHO, but I'm not sure it's worth ordering bc it's now available on other cars so it's become less exclusive.

Yeah Im familiar with estoril and monte carlo for the reasons you mentioned and I really cannot tell the two apart.
Best I can tell, I have noticed the teal tinge in Atlantis, but I'd love to see it next to either of the other two blues. Exclusivity really doesnt interest me in the least. I know I love estoril/mcb to an extent that I could see it on a turd bucket and would fall in love with said bucket. I've just never seen Atlantis in person so would be curious to see if its as effective on my emotions or if the other two are better. I only mention it because yes If Im going to custom order I may as well make it special, but if Atlantis doesnt DO it for me like the other two then it may as well be free Im still going mcb. I know most wont understand why I would even consider custom ordering something which is standard on an F30 328, but that blue does things to me ...especially when I see a blue thong peeking out of a pair of jeans but that a WHOLE nother story

I have seen pictures of all of those colors in this forum. A quick search should pull them up including Atlantis Blue and Atlantic Blue. I have to agree with you on Estoril and MCB, both are amazing.
I will be waiting for IB hopefully to be a free standard color with ZCP in a year or two. Hmmm maybe a two year lease on a SO car could hold me over. |

If you're going to pay, try for San Marino Blue (M6). Actually I like Porsche Aqua Blue but I doubt BMW would paint it. San Marino Blue is super metallic and really pops in person.

Atlantis definitely has some strong teal... it makes it less "blue" and a bit more "exotic". I personally love it. Very different from any blue out there but its not for everyone. I think the pics below are good representations of the color. I had my 996TT repainted in that color.
Estoril and MCB are great colors too and more true blue. |

Have you guys seen the special order color "Aegean blue"? There's an E93 at BMW north Scottsdale in that color.
It's...interesting...

It's a sad when when people no longer remember what Estoril looks like. An even sadder day for those of us who can remember Daytona Violet and Technoviolet.
MCB is not EB. |

Estoril is considerably lighter and brighter than MCB. I always felt that Interlagos and MCB were very close, with MCB being more of a "true blue". I always loved Technoviolet - classic E36 M3 color!

I think what people tend to forget is that the sun or lack-there-of, plays a HUGE role in how these different blue colors look.

If you're going to spend big then you may as well get a colour that is truly individual and is not currently offered on other BMW models. Most of the colours mentioned in this thread are available or have been available on recent models.
My vote would be for Santorini Blue

You're right! I was thinking about LeMans compared to Interlagos. Monte Carlo and Estoril are closer. My mistake!

I've seen all these colors in pictures. Estoril and MCB look very similar, what I'd love to see and what is so hard to come by is a picture of either of them next to Atlantis. There are some pics where Atlantis looks incredible but then there are some pics where it looks quite turquoise. Santorini is another I'd have to see in person, in a lot of the pics I've seen it looks very nice, but there are some where it looks too much like a pastel blue. Not quite as much as what Yas Marina Blue seems to be though....
Thanks for the comments and help! Now what are the chances I'll ever see an Atlantis and MCB next to eachother? hmmm....

Atlantis is as close as one gets to a metallic version of Laguna Seca Blue. It is very teal, almost similar to the metallic teal on some new cars like the Nissan Versa. It was originally an option color on the E36 Z3.
I considered it heavily and ultimately went with LSB. In my opinion, Atlantis is beautiful but really requires aggressive modification to keep it from looking, well, soft, due to its metallic aspect. There are a lot of car colors out there that look quite similar to Atlantis, and often are on really weak/non-performing cars. So there's that. I'd go with Atlantis if you plan on modding it like this, or similarly. Otherwise, I'd go with Estoril. MCB is too boring and common, IMO.
