M3 for highway drives
Anyone doing any normal 2-3 hr drives in the new M3? Curious as to the comfort on the highway...I'm sure the driving experience is going to be a blast but wasn't sure how comfortable of a ride it is. Thanks.

It is very comfortable. I took a fairly long test drive and the stability and comfort on the open road were a huge plus. As comfortable as my 550 was, and much more of a feeling of control. I can't wait for road trips on the highway and in the mountains.

i've done several 2-3 hr drives each covering around 350kms with a couple of rest/toilet stops in between. speed ranging between 120km/h to 260km/h (short blasts) due to traffic conditions.
no issue with ride comfort, stability nor control at sane speeds. i experienced some back discomfort but that's mainly due to my size and weight issues (i think) if you're doing a cruise at +/-180km/h in comfort mode, you should be as fresh as a daisy at your destination. cheers |

I have done two 2 hour+ trips in the M3. I agree that it is very comfortable. Ride is very nice and not tiring. The seats are very comfortable. I might be somewhat unusual in that I have Speed Cloth, but I suspect that's not a big factor. I usually take my M5 on long trips and the M3's shorter wheelbase is apparent, but not terribly fatiguing. I have done really LONG road trips in my X5, 540, and M5 and while I haven't done one in my M3 yet I have good reason to believe that it has the most comfortable seats of the bunch for such a trip

dawgdog and rvacha, are either of you interested in being added to the March delivery roll call at this link? http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=124050
If so, please pass me your info and I'll add you to the list. I'm trying to keep it as complete as possible. Thanks.
