Are you sure it's PSS and not PS2? BMW didn't develop an OEM version of the PSS for the M3. If it is definitely PSS, is there a BMW Star mark on it?

I hated the Contis on my wife's old 325i. We even swapped them up to the top of the line Contis and they were quite possibly the worst tires I've ever owned-even worse than the Falken tires I had on my old Integra.

My understanding is that there isn't yet a BMW version of the PSS, so I doubt that there will be any sort of special notation IF it was a PSS. I'm not saying that thsi applies to the previous poster, but some people don't know the different designations or the fact that even though the PSS is the successor to the PS2-and is even better performance, longer treadwear and lower cost-both tires are still being made and some manufactuerers still use the PS2 instead of the PSS.

I'd be interested to hear if BMW is actually supplying the new PSS...

I don't think it's PSS. You have PS2s. BMW definitely did not develop the PSS for the M3 E9x.

I've been looking at something in between PSS and DOT R Compounds for hpde and the bridgestone re-11s are candidates. Do you run them at track only or full time. How are they holding in the torrential downpours/floods we've been getting?

BMW only uses the PSS for 20s for now. Just bought a set of PSS for my e90 and wanted to price compare from the dealer, they don't have PSS for our 18s or 19s. Very unfortunate. They're a major upgrade from those conti sport contact 3s that came on my car. Can't chirp the tires shifting into 3rd anymore

I ran them for a couple of DE's long time ago, since then I had a second set of wheels and tires for track duty. So I don't remember the grip they offered on the track. But they've been successful on the street.

In terms of rain, I never had a problem. The car I had them on was no joke, I was never so comfortable behind the wheel, but that is a classic trait of the 911 breed.

I'm sure there are tires that are better in rain, but I certainly didn't have any issues with them on the street when wet.
