Pilot Super Sports surprisingly squirmy when new?
On my last set of rear Super Sports, they seemed to take a surprisingly long time to wear off the surface goop? For six or seven hundred miles the rear end would waggle when changing lanes at speed, or in corners - I was seriously beginning to wonder if there was a suspension problem.
That seems like a long time for them to break in? They're perfectly normal now (and sticky ) Cheers

Your suppose to take it easy for the first 500 miles for the tires to break in. Tirerack can explain it more-

Interestingly, on that link you sent was a guy describing a similar concern to mine. Maybe it's just a) in cold weather with the A/C off there's more power going to tires with less grip, and b) it seemed worst on roads that have some traffic depressions (i.e. tramlining). Maybe when the tires are new and the shoulders aren't worn at all, that makes more of a difference?

My new rear PSS were perfect right out of the box. Amazing traction, car drives wonderfully on them.
So doesn't sound normal what you're experiencing

I had grabbed one of the first shipments of the PSS when they first came out on my e46. They were slick for a few hundred miles. After that they were fantastic. Give them some break in time.

I swapped stock wheels and tires (219M, PS2) after ~5k miles and installed PSS tires and new 18" wheels. The PSS tires have significantly more grip than the PS2 tires!
