I went to VIR last week and had a blast! I'm going to Summit Point on April 21-22, you should definitely go!

Thats the thing...you have to be part of a group to do this stuff...

That is another reason why I miss tracking in europe. Pay your money and go have fun alone...

BMWCCA membership literally pays for itself with parts counter discounts each year.... not to mention a pretty wide array of activities like HPDEs, autocross, weekend tours, etc etc etc. Last year the NCC had the best Baltimore Grand Prix club paddock and tent - bar none.

You CAN track with commercial events (FATT etc) - but they are IMO a far cry from a BMW or Porsche club event quality and content.

Definitely. If you are in the Baltimore-Washington area - the National Capitol Chapter would be your local chapter. If not - there are other chapters around the Mid-Atlantic.

If you need info - let me know.

There is also one COMSCC event at Summit Point this year. I've driven with them for 3 years when I lived up in the Boston area, they are similar to what your describing as a European club. Come out, 1st day is practice, 2nd day is time trial and then Open Track. May 7th and 8th. I highly recommend them, I've driven with NASA, and SCCA and I've never had near the amount of time on track that I get at COM events.

Check them out, you will not be disappointed.

are you trolling or being serious?

If you move to Cali, then you just register with the local club by contacting them and/or registering with their local website, etc. You don't need a new subscription.

I apologize. I don't mean to sound abrasive. You just gave me a good laugh this morning

Just let us know your new address and you'll be assigned to your new local chapter.
