Thoughts?

And no I don't want to spend $$$ on new ones, when they should have had them from the begining.
Dont be blinded by the Bling-Bling of Brembo. the stock brake does a fine job on the tracks of Performance Center, plus it incorporates the BMW brake wiping technology.

Im sure if you change those with Brembos it throws that technology out the door. Anyone?

at the very least, they should paint the caliper black and put m logo on it.

Only enthusiasts will notice, then after they look at the decal they'll see how unimpressive the caliper looks. Not saying they don't work fine on the street, but I wouldn't want to call attention to them. The rotors are really nice, though!

I never had a problem with my stock 350Z brembos? They never faded under track conditions.... actually felt better than my M's
. I dont like the M's initial bite, the Brembos have a nice linear feel> Hell I already had my M breaks fade on me...

Actually, no. BMW decided that wiping and other soccer-mom functions could be left off the M3, so they are not included.

Maybe it is only an issue with the Nismo version of the 350Z. Car and Driver documented the extreme fade of that Brembo system carefully. It was the only vehicle that went off the charts - literally - and that is not off in a good way.

The article and this entire debate is discussed pretty well here (the link the to C&D article is there as well).

I don't think anyone is complainin about the rotor size. I do think it's about time BMW went to a fixed caliper in the M cars. It's just wrong to have a sliding caliper in a $65k car, even if it works just fine.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

I was on track (Silverstone Grand Prix circuit in the UK) yesterday with the guys at Drivers Republic..... after 4 hard laps their E90 M3 brakes were fading badly (they had sports pads fitted a few days before). I'm a little surprised at how quickly fade set in although Silverstone is a long track.....

They still have that annoying "hill assist" or whatever it's called where it holds the brakes for you when on an incline for like 2 seconds. I hate it and this is definitely soccer-mom brake functionality!

You can put lipstick on an M3,... but it's still an M3
