I would love to have the TR Motorsports but I want an 18x10 square setup and as you know they're on back order forever.
I'm not looking to get wheels right around the time my track season comes to an end

I had H&R Sport springs installed last week and added a 12mm spacer to the rear. I really like the ride with 18" wheels. It may look better with my 19s but this setup is great to drive.

Wow, the drop looks great with these wheels. Congrats. Can't wait to see it at the 7/10 PR event!

Do you have an instructor yet? I am have requested Rob Scheibe who I had at the PCA day. You might see if you could get him. He is bright, PHD in mechanical engineering, and really loves to instruct. I also had Stan Bovich for 2 BMWCCA events. He is very good and has an almost new e92 M3. Looking forward to seeing you there. Saw your car at group II and your wheels look fantastic.

Seems like you spend about as much time at Group 2 as I do ;-) I am back there on Thursday to tweak the alignment. Does not feel quite right.

Look forward to seeing you on the 10th. I have also signed up for the Alfa day on 7/22.

Anyway I know of a wheel - same thats going on the KW M3 Race car. Just can't discuss it right now. So if you guys are looking for some PM or give me a call and I'll let you guys know on a great available option coming soon.
A cast wheel is cheaper to manufacture than a forged wheel. Take two very well engineered/optimized wheels--one cast, one forged. The forged wheel will have superior weight/strength ratio and will cost more. Not sure what part of that you are disagreeing with as that is pretty straight forward.

That doesn't mean there aren't relatively inexpensive cast wheels that are relatively strong. TR Motorsport wheels do not seem to fall under that category though for instance as there are now multiple reports of bent wheels on the track (rough track surface, minor trip to the lawn, etc). I am sure you can find well made cast wheels that one might see on a race car. Aren't Advan RS wheels cast for instance? However, they aren't exactly cheap at $2.5+ a set, plus they can't be as strong as a well made forged wheel at comparable weight.

Are there a set of 18x10 cast wheels that weight 19lb each (add the spacer weights if the offsets are off) and cost ~$1.5k and won't get bent on the track by going off or catching a bad bump? And what about overall stiffness and elastic deformation under high cornering loads?

With the exception of bling motivated marketing and purchasing, I don't see how you wouldn't be getting what you pay for in general when buying quality wheels.

Are those the wheels in the above picture? If so, how heavy are they and how do you like them compared to the the stock 19" wheels?
