Widest possible 19" wheels
What is the absolute widest 19" wheels you can run on the M without poking. Somewhere in the range of 19x10 front and 19x11.5 rear? Obviously the offsets would have to be PERFECT to not rub on the inside of the wheel wheel as well as the fenders. I am planning on some custom wheels which would be specifically made to any specs I want and just want to triple check with you guys.
After that is figured out, we'll deal with the tire sizes I will probably stretch the tires just a little bit so I can dump the car all the way down for show purposes and back up to a drive-able height for daily use. Thanks in advance. |

This reminds me of an article I've read on last month's issue of car and driver (i think..), where they tested out various diameters and widths of wheels on the skidpad. When they were testing out wheels of different widths but the same diameter, the traction initially improved as they moved up from the thinnest tire up, as expected. But from a certain point the trend began to reverse. Tires of wider than optimal widths started inducing understeer, and the wider they got the more understeer they caused. The engineers of michelin (maybe goodyear, don't remember clearly) explained that this happened because with the excessively wide tires the outside wheels gained more traction, dragging the car outwards on turns. |

Stretch
Quote:
Dude, I personally think a 275-35-19 would look overly stretched on an 11 inch rim. 285 or 295 at the minimum for that size wheel. |
