Satellite Prep
(Mistakenly posted this in the pricing forum, too.)
My 2011 E92 M3 has the "satellite preparation" option so no satellite radio but has the wiring, etc. I called my local dealer about getting it installed but he said I can't. He went on about BMW not offering it due to XM/Sirius merger... blah blah blah. I can't believe it. Has anyone else encountered this? My spidey sense was telling me he was just blowing me off because its a pain for the dealership and I find it hard to believe that he just said no... wasn't expecting that. Anyone out there successfully added the stock satellite radio after purchase? Thanks for the help. |

The dealer I purchased mine from added it as part of the deal when I bought my pre-owned 2010 e90. So it can definitely be done. Grand Blanc BMW in MI, if you need to talk to a service department that has done it.

That merger happened a few years ago. People have been doing this mod for years w/ satelite prep
