touch up paint for 359m zcp wheels?
I was washing my wheels and noticed a large piece flaked off. Anyone know what paint would match to touch it up?

I would sand the area down, use red bondo putty, sand again. prime, and then paint.
Try Wurth silver alloy paint and then clear over it. I am not sure if BMW used that exact color for the ZCP wheels but try 144 color code for bmw silver. Or if you want something quick, go to autozone and get the closest silver color touch up brush and dabble it on. |

Can anyone confirm whether the 359m ZCP wheels use BMW's color code 144 or something else? Wanted to do some curb rash repair and found the 144 advertised online at following site but not sure if it is correct color shade:

I got lucky and found this. This matches the ZCP wheel perfectly even though it's for another brand. It is an applicator pen too which was perfect for a small stone chip I had.
Good luck ppl.

It is not possible to "match" the factory 359M finish with a simple touch-up pen. The factory color is a hyper-silver, which is not just a particular shade of silver. Hyper-silver is done by using a specific primer and then layering on top. I recently took two of my 359M wheels to be refinished and they explained this to me.
I can vouch for this through personal experience. One of my rears had curb damage when I bought the car and the dealer offered to fix it for free. Their wheel repair guy tried to fix it with sanding and silver paint, but it was blatantly obvious when I got the wheel back -- the color was off, the finish was different, and he couldn't get it to blend properly. I took it elsewhere to be fully refinished and learned exactly why hyper-silver is a hassle to fix.

A touch-up pen is simply that. Not a magic bullet. What I found is a remedy for small issues that won't break the bank. Hyper Silver may indeed be a pain in the ass to match properly but I've watched a wheel refinisher do it flawlessly. I have the guys business card just in case. I'm sure others will attest to other wheel refinishers beautifully blending this color.

None of the above work. Ordered the Subaru paint and it's not a match. Closer than others, but still darker. Thinking of trying Mercedes wheel paint or toyotas new silver body paint since both seem super bright with little visible fleck.
Tried to order "power silver" from UK which is supposedly a perfect match, but they won't ship it to US. |
