Alarm going off when opening a locked door
It happened a couple of times so far.
I lock the car at work. Come back after several hours and pull the door handle once or twice to unlock and open door (without touching the top of the handle where the sensor is located) The door does open but without the two beeps signaling unlocking. Instead the alarm goes off and the door still opens. Immediately, I lock the door with the remote and try again. This time it works just fine. What gives? Could the cold weather cause something like this? |

Somehow I recall this being symptomatic of a battery on the verge of needing replacement, but I can't remember for sure. A battery load test is very quick and easy for any shop to perform, though. If you do get a new one, make sure it gets registered, either by the shop or by you if you have a coding cable.

Are you sure the door is locking? I had this happen a few years ago and the door wasn't actually locking because of a bad actuator.

Hmm.. That's a good point. I hear the beep as I walk away and lock so I don't know. So if the actuator is bad, the knob on the door by the window wouldn't go down but the alarm would still beep?
