I think we are talking about the carbon cloth dash trim. I have it as well but haven't tried to clean it with anything yet.

It's Carbon Leather, which I think is what is confusing. Treat it same as the seats. Leather cleaner and treatment of your choice. I won't get inot the multitude of opinions here. Check out the Detailing forum. http://www.m3post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=189

I'm pretty sure it's real. I would just use leather cleaner.

First, using leather cleaner would make it look real shinny and it won't go away unless you're constantly touching it.

Second, only the top part of the trim is leather, you can see the leather if you have iDrive. The surface of the trim (carbon pattern part) is actually fabric.

Thats precisely why I was asking. It looks like it would react differently compared to say the leather seats.

I use the same chemical guys leather cleaning/conditioning products that I use on the rest of the car...no fade and it makes it look brand new everytime I use it.

I don't think that's the case. I think it's leather that's had the surface pattern formed into it.

Meguiar's Quik Interior detailer..

Name: 1.jpg
Views: 680
Size: 6.6 KB

Its made for any interior surface (plastics, vinyl, leather, rubber, metal and even audio/video equipment)

And it does not leave any residue, and is NOT shiny..
everything looks simply clean, not greased up..

i use this on everything, its so much easier to work with..
i only use a real leather spray mb once a year if i think the leather needs it...

try some

not all leather cleaner leaves shine... the stuff I use on my seats cleans really well and leaves no shine. same as my leather conditioner, nothing like armor-all

Zaino leather cleaner and leather conditioner are great products. They leave absolutely no shine. Works great on the carbon trim.
