Is the M logo on the dash supposed to light up?

When the headlamps are on the dash illuminates as normal but the M logo inside the RPM tach is very dimmed. Almost looks like it's not lit.

I haven't played much with the dimmer (I'm gonna try tonight) but can you guys confirm that it's supposed to light up? or not?

Having had an E46 where the M lights up and now an E90 where it doesn't, I actually like the non-lit M better. IMO it's classier, there are already too many ///M logos on these cars to begin with.

OK.. thanks. I just got to the interior lights screen and pushed the set button, but I couldn't get it to make it any brighter (it was showing just 2 bars and the interior dash is very dim). Then, after like 10 trys, it got brighter. Now I cant get the little knob to go back to that screen. It goes to all others but will not return to that one. Must be faulty.

Guess I should bring it in.
