Dyno Results! aFe Stage II and Dinan Pulley
So I had an opportunity over the weekend and had a Dyno Dynamics reading of the current to-the-wheel power on the M.
It's a 2011 ZCP without M-Mode. aFe Stage II full replacement, Dinan Pulley, no software, no exhaust upgrades. If im not mistaken for the calculation. Stock: 414hp (-18%=339.48) Pulley+Intake: 375.7hp (+18%=443.33)

36whp gain from pulley and intake .
A bit optimistic ? Do you have before and after runs? Should be a better way to assess gains... IMO, the dyno graph does not make sense either (power peak at 7600RPM???). BTW, the math is wrong too: 376whp / (1 - 0.18) = 458hp. Last edited by CanAutM3; 04-30-2012 at 08:29 PM.. |

Something is wrong with the dyno. Torque and horsepower are crossing at maybe 5750 instead of 5250 and the power stops at 7600. If the stock run was configured the same way, you at least know you gained something, and you should gain something. 375 would probably be on the high side of realistic for a pulley and intake, which seem to be worth more like 10 rwhp each or 20 rwhp total than the 35 rwhp you gained.

I don't mean to rain on your parade but this dyno means nothing without a baseline to compare it to. You can't just make up a stock number based on what you think it should be.

For all you guys saying that HP and TQ don't cross at 5252, just look at the graph closer. The graph has HP on the left axis and AFR on the right axis. This isn't HP and TQ, this is HP and AFR.

The plot contains HP and AFR, not HP and torque - that's why the two curves are not crossing at 5250 rpm.
Also, agree with other comments - "after" HP plot is worthless without a "before" HP plot. |

Good point. But why do you stop the pull at 7500 on an engine that makes peak power at 8300 rpm? I don't trust the dyno. Good for tuning, but not for comparison to the more common dynojet results. And why isn't torque on the dyno? Why would someone log only horsepower?

There's no way you got 35 hp from those two mods.

Bs Dyno ... You won't be getting that much power from those conservative companies.. Plus Afe intake has shown loss or no change multiple times.
