So the RE and the UUC units have the added NVH, does the same apply to the AA SSK?

My UUC unit has increased NVH on my e46 M3.
Has the noise gone away with usage?

Not to bump a super old thread, but I just wanted to add another data point. I have the UUC SSK and I also have increased noise. However, it is only noticeable when shifting aggressively at high RPMs. 2->3 is the most noticeable to me personally.

I just wanted to clarify this. I spoke to John at UUC and he informed me that there should be NO ADDED NOISE with the UUC. He suspected that the height-adjustable 24mm locking nut was not tightened properly. Sure enough, I popped the leather trim off and was able to crank this down (counter-clockwise) a significant amount. It appears that all added noise is now gone.

I have had my UUC installed for a few days and did notice when I installed it that the height adjustment nut was loose- not loose enough that I could change the height but loose enough that I could turn the shift knob. After tightening it down and completing the installation, I had zero NVH which continues to be the case a few days later. I have used UUC in two other cars with 2 years worth of mileage and they have no NVH to date. I think the UUC SSK is great but did not get the DSSR after some negative reviews from users here on the forum.
