It's a good game to play these days..seeing who gets the highest gas mileage! $4 a gallon sucks, especially when ur doing under around 11mpg.

Guys, guys, it was no photoshop, and I know how to drive my car.
If look in detail, it only had 2.0 miles, and a full tank. Which is because I filled the tank, reset the trip-o-meter. And in 2 miles, I was on the freeway, taking the next exit, while I was cruising to the stop light (which is why it was at 7th gear with <2 rpms).

On a 130 mile trip recently, with the computer turned on at the start and off at the end of the 120 mile highway portion, I averaged 83.9 mph and 18.8 mpg over the 120 miles. I was easy on the throttle and not hotrodding around, but obviously running mostly in the 3500 rpm range with some above and some below, all in 6th gear of course. I thought this was pretty good. I will try driving slower next time. I would guess 21 mpg at 70 mph average.

around town i get 21, in the city it dips to 14, on highway 65mph i average around 25-26 and 70-80mph i am around 22-23. Its funny because when i was buying the car i didn't pay attention to mpg.

Are those all 100+ mile averages? I find the quick checks over just a few miles are optimistic compared to the average over many more miles that factors in hills and passing and other throttle or load changes that affect mpg. If so, pretty good mpg. I may test out some other highway speed ranges for curiosity's sake, but I knew mpg was unexceptional when I bought the car and generally have not paid much attention.

Why is this thread continuing... very easy to "manipulate" your mpg.
