I also went from a 1M to an M3...VO to IB....kept to the loud colors. Overall, the cars are designed to excel in different regions of the torque band: 1.5k to 5k versus 5k to 8.5k The result is "quick" versus "fast." Build quality is much better on the M3, however. Much more solid. And the EDC makes it that much more refined and supple.

Every time i drove i had the feeling i was driving a gem , and i was . . The E92 was a no brainer. So after 36000 km , making the swap with no hesitation tells a lot.

Get some high flow cats and a drop in filter and a tune. keep it above 5500 and drive it hard to redline than you will miss none of the "torque" of the 1m. Torque at the wheels of an m3 in its powerband is higher than the 1m in its powerband so its a matter of driving the car properly.
Driving an m3 below 5k and comparing it to the 1m is silly. Its like the e39 m5 guys saying their m5 is faster most of the time since below 5k it is. However driven under heavy throttle the e60 m5 or e90 m3 for that matter never dips below 5500 under acceleration and its under heavy acceleration that you compare two sports cars. |

That's a three wheeled BRP product . It's a Spyder roadster. Like a T-rex in some ways , but cheaper and uglier. Does not require a bike license and is powered by a shared lineup engine from their other recreational vehicule lineup.

Congrats. Can't wait for your comparison (1M vs M3) after get to put more miles on it.

I've driven both and while the M3 certainly has plenty of charms and is easier to drive on the track, the 1M is more of a handful on the throttle which I find rather fun and challenging for skill development. It's also quite easy to generate a ridiculous amount of power in the 1M :-). For most people I would say the M3 is probably overall a more pleasing package.
