M3 mirrors not lining up :(

Hi guys.

Does anybody else have the same probleem as I do? My M3 mirrors don't line up 100% when the un-fold. Seems like the travle too far before they stop (if you know what I mean?).

Any way to fix this problem?

Thanks.

YOu bought them from a private party? Maybe the person drop them or something, or even damaged during shipment.

We have tried to take them apart but everything looks OK. No shratches or anything.

I asked at BMW but they don't know anything about thesse mirrors, we don't have many M3's here in Denmark.

Mine line up pretty well. Not EXACT, but close enough.

Thanks.
It looks like it went past its fully extended position point.I don't know if you can put something in there to block it from rotating past the point where it is lined up.

he is right. Take a look at the right side, and compare it with the left. See if there is anything missing, or if there is a bump that is suppose to stop the mirror from over extending, and it is not doing its jump.

I have not seen two matching mirrors that different. However, even when L and R are much closer they are still quite poor in fit. In general this could be the worst fit and finish issue on the M3.

Yes, that's exactly what it does. The STOP is inside the little motor and there is noway to adjust it as far as I know.

I actually went to check mine last night and both sides are off actually. I don't think they're as far off as your driver's side one, but they're not perfect. Damn that one looks kinda crappy.

I remember when the M mirrors were seen in spy shots and everyone was saying they were gonna put the regular 3-series mirrors on their M.

haha oh the irony...

I think the seller on Ebay must' lied to you. They all say that "this is OEM", when in reality, they are not. Probably those were made in some foreign country and not Germany.

Any update on this issue? I got about 3500 miles on mine and I just noticed this problem on my driver side mirror. I did not have this problem before, the driver side use to line up perfectly. I will setup up an apointment next week with the dealer to get it looked at. Just curious on what your dealers said about this.

Thanks
