Certified Pre-Owned (warranted used vehicle). Do they have something similar in Europe?

Thanks for the explanation.
So that are used vehicles which are under a special warranty, right? That programme is called "Premium selection" in Germany, think that's about the same.

- SA752 BMW Individual High End Audiosystem Nur in Verbindung mit M Drive und Navigationssystemen oder Radio Professional - €1.764,71

Note the €2100 price you quoted in Germany is witrh VAT; w/o it's €1764.

This is from the South Africa price list, where 676 is the standard system, as well:

- SA676 Hi-Fi loudspeaker system (10 speaker system including Amplifier with vehicle specific equalizing) - Std
- SA677 Hi-Fi speaker system with Professional DSP (Digital Sound Processor LOGIC 7 with 13 speakers) - R3 900
- SA752 Individual High-end Audio system (16 speaker system with high-end amplifier performance, optimised cooling system, unique speaker grilles) - R14 600
This clarification will make it worse... jumping from HiFi to Individual Audio is a $2000+ cliff.

Thus, looking it in another way... CA could be a $6000+ option in the M3.

So much dilemna's... we have a little bit longer to completely understand our situations...
I agree with Epacy base wil be belowe 60 000... I would bet on it...
I will even bet between 54-56k Especially with the fact that they are forcing us to ZPP to have M Drive (smart bastards).

and btw... carbonfiber interior trim is 350 bucks (editing that Pricing P.S.) I looked it up on the M6...

That's not the same, on the M6 it's a real carbon trim!

The option structure for this M3 looks to me like the X5's... a base price within the last generation equivalent model but it can be possible to go up to 60% more after packages are included.

A X5 4.8 can go from $55,000 to $80,000 in a blink of an eye when you start adding packages.

I think that a base M3 will be half-decently equipped at $55,000 (semi-leather seats, base audio, 18" wheels)...

Every German (and, frankly, European) make is likely to increase prices as the dollar gets weaker. The Japanese make plenty of cars here so there's less of a problem but I suspect halo cars like the GT-R are still made overseas, thus they may have price increases too.

As an aside, this board is full of people that are younger (fact) with less money (on average, an educated guess) than the average M3 driver overall. Most likely the prices some of our members balk at will not make others blink.

That's true... BMW needs to find now 100,000 people that don't blink.

Sure you want to bet? I have a standing bet with JEllis on $57k base. You can join in as well at $56k. Greater than $56k I win and you drive around for a month with huge ricey Honda stikers all over your E92 M3 for a month. I choose the stickers and locations.

What happens if you lose both bets Swamp? Your new M3 gets plastered with rice symbols?

There is only one bet to date, with JEllis. If I lose I think the bet was my current M3 gets stickered. But whether or not I remember the best accurately right now it is easily locatable and documented right here on the forum.

You know, I think we should convince one of the admins to come up with some riced-out smilies. That way, when people lose bets, they can pay an electronic on-line price in the form of a riced-out icon in their sig files.

I decided to contact BMW USA about this (Comfort Access). Here is what they had to say:

Quote:
Dear mkoesel:

Thank you for contacting BMW of North America, LLC regarding the new BMW M3. I was sorry to read of your disappointment with the information you recently obtained regarding the availability of Comfort Access.

We appreciate your taking the time to provide this feedback. Your comments are important in helping us evaluate the needs and expectations of BMW customers. Please note that we have not yet officially released an options list for the M3. I suggest staying in touch with us either through our network of authorized BMW centers, or our website, www.bmwusa.com, for product updates and releases.

If you have any further comments or questions, please respond to this e-mail or contact the Customer Relations and Services Department at 1-800-831-1117, Monday through Friday from 9:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M., Eastern Standard Time. Again, thank you for contacting BMW.

Sincerely,

Question:
To concerned parties at BMW USA,

Regarding the all new 2008 M3 coming next spring, I am very interested in purchasing this car. It looks like another brilliant effort from the BMW M Division.

However, I have seen the options list that was released on DCSnet last week and I am extremely dismayed that Comfort Access is only listed as part of the the Technology Package (ZTP). Does BMW USA really have no plans to offer Comfort Access as a stand alone option on the new M3? I know that this option is offered as a stand alone option on virtually every other BMW model available in the US, including the M5.
Please, I implore you to reconsider the decision to include Comfort Access only as part of the ZTP for the new M3. I love Comfort Access on my wife's 335i, but I will be disappointed if electing this option also requires Navigation, MDrive, and EDC which I do not wish to equip my M3 with.

Thank you for you time,

mkoesel

Granted, it may not be considered official because it hasn't been released to the public (..i.e..potential buyers), but I have no reason to doubt the validity of the initial post in this thread. Whether BMW decides to make any last minute changes remains to be seen.

After the M3 Experience

The cars we drove had everything, EDC, M Button and all,

I will say that the M button I could see changed controls
but am not a M oldtimer to know what exactly it adds. I
should be ordering for PU in March. I have heard that
DCT or (what ever) could be available but it was a rumor
and I will inquire some more.

I will not be ordering much as I want a car I could track
when I desired, The Carbonfiberish roof no, a sunroof for a daily
car yes. the leather/cloth is my preference as well. but hey
Its no light weight.

I will see if I can order a special color maybe Le Mans blue

If not Silverstone II then Blue.

I will order with 19"s and tires or buy a set for the track
The instructors, the drivers who showed me what the car
would do had all aides off and it was at its best.

I think they will sell quite well if they do not get greedy

I really like my new 08 C-6 so it should be a great comparison.

Right - I am not saying the list is bunk, I am just saying its not necessarily final.
