The M3 driver was having too much fun. Yeah, those Cobalt SSs are surprisingly fast. There was one in my session at the Glen. They really go...

P.S. I embedded your youtube link. You can use "U2B" and "/U2B" tags (in brackets) around the the embed link after copying and pasting it from the youtube page.

While I respect the Cobalt SS as a really good "sleeper", I'm not impressed with the driver in this video. What is with all the sawing of the steering wheel. He is totally not smooth, and there's no doubt in my mind that he could've caught and passed the other cars if he were more smooth. The drivers of the M3 and Z06 were obviously "worse", but the Cobalt driver wasn't all that he thought he was either.

I was wondering whether the sawing was an attempt at cutting understeer...?

I was also quite suprised at how much input he was using in the Cobalt as he is quite fast and looks fairly smooth from the outside, but it does seem to work for him.I think this was during the 1st run group during the morning and I know things improved during the day.The guy in the M3 had his tires way overinflated and had no grip, but was OK once he set his tires properly.

So that's how you do it. Great vid Gearhead, that M3 driver was looking to kill a set of rear tires I see.

If you liked that, try this one.I am the guy in the E92 having way too much fun.The guy in the Vette is a guy I raced against in Firehawk a long time ago ,so the trust level is quite high.

He could have been smoother, but he had to basically manhandle that POS Cobalt to keep it on the track. I doubt he could have been faster. He seems to be doing well with what he's driving.
