Congrats! The GTR is the best all around sports car available in my opinion. It's performance, ability to put real miles on it and did I mention performance. It's so good I have bought 2 of them! Sure a 458 Italia is a piece of art but its 2X+ more expensive and can't really be driven more then a couple thousand mile a year if you want any resale value.

Not a fan of Nissan after owning a couple, especially a Nissan GTR. Can't get past its looks, inside and out.

As long as you're happy then so be it.

Congrats, you're now a ricer...

I kid, I kid. Congrats and enjoy it in good health. The GT-R is on my future list depending on if the new M4 floats my boat or sinks my ship.

I remembered when the GT-R came out around the same time as the E9x M3 did, it made the M3 look shamefully bad on the track. Actually its level of comparison is not the M3 but the Porsche GTs. As a daily drive the M3 is a better choice, more enjoyable and comfortable and a more classic look.

These threads with the M3 and the GTR always make me laugh. The man bought a GTR and is excited about it, if you do not want one then that's fine, no need to try to poo-poo his purchase. I have had the M3, C63 and the GTR, they are all great, all different but that doesn't make one better than the others.

One thing is for sure: elegance in design was not a thought for the
Nissan guys... for me, going faster is not the point

Agreed. The problem is when the GTR fanboys start acting like it is such a "superior" car. No car is the be all and end all (except quite possibly the new Aston Martin Vanquish).

Congrats on the GT-R! The performance of these cars is crazy.

I got to run a full bolt-on 2013 GT-R the other day and watch what it did to me...and my M3 is supercharged making 567 wheel uncorrected!

I'm not sure what full bolt-on means for the GT-R's or how much it costs...but the owner rattled off like 10 things including tune, injectors, mid-pipe, exhaust, etc. and said it made close to 600 wheel and did low 10's at over 130 mph in the quarter mile...and we all know what they can do on the track. Be safe!

BMW fans aren't really any better. Whether the looks are appreciated or not, there is no denying that the GT-R is a performance masterpiece, ahead of the M3 in terms of capability. I get its a difference experience, and some prefer the M3, but some of the things a BMW owner will tell themselves to feel better about not owning such a marvel is sometimes laughable.

I'm a big fan of both cars, and both deserve a lot of respect.

I am about to the same thing. Any regrets or things that you don't like about the car?

I drove a GTR on the Nurburgring for 2 laps. first time out i matched my then fastest lap in my GT3 RS. 2nd time i pushed more and made more mistakes. timing all off so earlier several corners. the car does not care as it will think of a way to make it possible. after the two laps gave keys back to owner. its impressive piece of engineering, but i felt like the driver is almost optional in them. Even though the M3 has much less hp, its got soul. OP I hope you enjoy your car. I'm sure the instant acceleration will keep you entertained.

I just read this review and same sentiments as mine.

1. Color match the lower fascia +
2. Wald front bumper cover
3. Custom rear bumper cover
4. HRE wheels
5. Repaint brake calipers
6. Sound insulation added throughout cabin
7. Complete conversion to Egoist edition interior
8. Removal of rear wing, replace with M3 performance-like custom rear spoiler.

That would do it, I think. This is before any performance mods, however, the GTR really doesn't need anything in that department.

Alternatively, I could just get a 911 turbo S for slightly less money.
That would only cost you about $15-20k ,Not 70k.

You should get one. But I recommend knowing a good chiropractor first.

I would rather keep it stock form and have a nice 800hp sleeping inside

Absolutely no car is perfect, but if comparing performance it makes the M3 look like a power wheel...especially when you throw a few basic bolt-ons on the car.

The R34 was so sexy, it hurt.

The GTR doesn't photo well, I'll agree with that. But it has quite a stunning visual presence in person.
