Unhappy give me a break!!

ok, so after having some a...holes trying to break in to my m3 I had the car at BMW auto shop for about two weeks to repair the locks and do some painting on the doors, yesterday I got the car and it felt rely good after two weeks in a 316d touring rental, mi first stop after picking the car up was the gas station, fueled up reedy to go the car wouldn't start, got a yellow warning code on the dashboard "EVL steringlock bla bla etc" after a quick search on Google I realized that this was a serious problem and after about 20 min trying to start my bellowed m3 I gave up and had it toed to BMW Bavaria.
I think I'm looking at a reparation cost of about 1200-1500$ for the change of the steering column and it sucks big time,
if my insurance doesn't cover it I'm going to try to get some goodwill from the guys at BMW. some pics of the car at BMW Bavaria depot.
got to do something about the licensplate...

Who tries to steal a BMW like that?..this isnt a Honda where you could pop the column and punch the ignition..people generally know this..at least state side..

Sorry to hear about your troubles.

I am confused. How did the steering column get messed up if they never got into the car?

The EVL code(steering lock problems) had nothing to do whit the morons that tried to break in to the car.
EVL is a common problem on E90 I've been told up to late 2008 models when the got rid of the EVL lock, it's basically some electronics that senses if the key is inserted in the car, if it fails you going to have some problems starting the car because the sensors doesn't release the steering lock. In my case just bad luck I guess in regards of me 20 min before picking it up from BMW, that's at least what they are telling me at BMW.....................................

to BMW Bavaria in Stockholm, Sweden.

have to give the guys at BMW Bavaria some props, I went and got the car today, it took them 3 days to find the fault, fix all the papers whit the insurance company and replace the steering column and also give the care a gentle wash
I'm very satisfied and can now hit the streets and never set my foot again in a Toyota auris or a 316d...the 316d was actually a good car but a bit to quit for my taste.
