The high pressure hydraulics and actuators make this trans more like an smg 3 with torque converter which i would not believe it has since the shifts feel so solid ,no sluch box feel at all when in sport mode.

Even in drive mode, immediate response no torque converter wind up, i cannot feel any less solid connection with crankshaft than a DTC.

Ya right, knew this would be the response,

I do not work for Ford, i love BMW's but I waited and waited for someone to step up and post a review of the Mustang GT 10-sp auto to satisfy the OP's numerous requests.

Since no one actually test drove one, but seemed to be experts on the subject, i thought i would share my experience, I knew positive reviews on technology other than BMW would not be well received, but i hope i satisfied the OP's curiosity when he checks back on this thread.

The Mustang is a keeper (no resale, LOL) and reliable as long as one stays away from dealer service; but my BMW's are always ready to sell or trade for another due to the much higher perceived value, may be looking at a e92 m3 vert next

WOW took almost a year for someone to actually drive one and post here! I knew it would happen some day! Sounds like you are pretty happy with it... good deal... even though my M3 is long gone and ive been in a C7 corvette for about 10 months i appreciate hearing your comments on the Mustang GT with the A10

My 2018 stingray vet is a M7 manual and i am considering upgrading to a Grand sport and getting the A8 trans.

I hope someday someone here will go from a E9x m3 to a 18 or newer mustang GT and write their impressions. ( maybe by 2020 ).

The m7 is the way to go, the a8 has issues on the vette and camaro forums..

The only good auto trans is the a10 in the ZL1 (co-developed with ford) unfortunately it cannot be made to fit the vette.

As long as one has a warranty there is no reason to go from e92 m3 with DTC to a mustang gt with a10 . if i bought a m3 out of warranty it would be manual trans only.

Update: 2018 a8 has improved

. My 2018 , built late June 2017 incorporates the aforementioned and the drive line is night and day different than what I had in my 2015, August build 2014, which was a nightmare. The 2018 shifts are fantastic and butter smooth."

Mustang GT is a great car if you are on the shorter side otherwise your head is near the roof orntge side pillars. In the event of a roll over one would become a vegetable in that car from the head injuries. I don’t know why they designed that Mustang with so little headroom especially in America. It’s not like it was designed in Japan catering to their shorter Japanese people. These days in American most people are not 5 feet tall. Even a Carrera or Cayman has more headroom. I don’t know who designed the seating positions and how they got approved. The height adjustments are pretty much useless unless one is 1 inch under feet tall and needs to go up another 1”

On my way home in my F80, minding my own business and had another Coyote encounter. Mustang GT owners seem to love me.

What do you think about the new Bullitt mustang vs the m3? They look pretty cool and I was thinking with limited production maybe they would hold value better. But still. Its a mustang lol not an M3.
