TT VQ35's are not that fast at all. I don't care what numbers say, if you ran a 11.1 @ 133 with 700rwhp and I ran an 11.2 @ 127 w/ a 350whp evo than there's something off with those TT Z's and G35's.
On topic, the M3 acceleration is very very casual, its enough to make the girls go "oh shit" and put a smile on your face. Don't compare it to a F430, just aint right.

[QUOTE=Mr.Marvelous;3255490]Hey guys;
The acceleration (and the braking also) was very brutal and scary. I never felt that force which pulls your body into the seat. I haven't driven or ride in a new M3 yet. My question is, does the M3 give a similar sensation? NOT EVEN CLOSE, no offense,but's that is not why I am buying one! And yes I have driven a F430. Scott |

I have the Ferrari 2007 f430 with formula 1 paddleshifts. I also have the 2008 bmw m3
sedan with DCT....and here's what I think : Due to torque differences, the M3 at 3500 rpm or below is subduded but once you get to the powerband of around 3800 RPM on it slowly builds and from abut 5500 to 8000 it just whacks it out of the park. I love the M3. The shift speeds/suspension on the F430 are dependent on the setting of the Mannetino (selector switch on steering wheel). For the most brutal shifts (ie., quicker) u can set it up on race and you can literally feel the violence of the shifts. Even when the mannetino is setup to "slippery road", you can definitely feel the jerks when gears are shifted and all the more so when u are going a little faster. The car has fantastic torque and the power band seems to go on and on. I also love the f430. For some strange reason (probably because the m3 is my daily driver) I seem to enjoy driving the m3 more than I do the f430. believe it or not!! - aLV |

I've certainly scared a few passengers in my M3!
The acceleration after 5,000 rpm DOES knock you back in your seat!! |

Absolutely you can. Without question. Of course it all depends on how good a driver you are. You may scare the person next to you because you drive like an inexperienced driver in a 400+ HP car. Or you may be immature and drive like a nut. But the acceleration will impress those in the car with you. Unless they own a Ferrari

I have driven a couple cars that have more "brutal" acceleration than the M3, but the M3 is constantly fast. The 400awhp STi I drove was scary fast and pulled hard to 140mph, but after 120mph I think the M3 would pull on it. Same thing w/ my father's 500bhp Factory Five Cobra. It may do 0-100mph in 5.9sec, but I wouldn't drive it any faster than 120mph. M3 feels solid even at 168mph indicated.

All //Ms accelerate very smoothly and linearly, not what I would call brutal at all, this makes their speed very deceptive. They dont shove you into your seat, they gradually push you back. I felt my moderately stock STI accelerated more brutally than an M6, doesn’t mean it was faster. Also, you have to take into account the passenger seat syndrome; everything feels faster, more brutal, scary when you are the passenger.

Also, all the insulation/sound deadening dampens the "feel" of acceleration. I would not call the M's accel brutal, but as the posted above said, it is deceptively fast.

Blasphemy! I don't believe it. Moderators, ban him. How can anyone be a true enthusiast and say something like that? Even on an M3 forum.

Well, the X6 didn't excite me at all. It's as huge as a X5, but the interior very small. The front and back windows are too small too, so you can't see a damn thing. I couldn't park the thing when we came back from the test drive even with the camera on.
And since its too heavy and high off the ground, you don't get the sensation of speed. You're goin with 100+ mph and it still feels like you're going with 50 or so.. Maybe X6 M will be much more different.

The M3 like alvinjamur said starts off subtle but once its in that 4k rpm range its pretty wild.I drive the GTR all the time as well and that thing is very violent. i have made people scream while in the passenger seat. IMO it pulls harder that the 430 but the m3 can def hang with em once u wake it up (4krpms and better). but the m3 wud def make the best daily driver out of all 3 IF i didnt have a 91 beater honda that use for EVERYTHING.
