Shark fin replacement DIY?

Has anyone replaced the shark fin housing on their e92? If so, how difficult is it? Also, does the replacement fin come with the necessary adhesive from the factory? Mine was recently cracked, so I will have to replace it at some point.

Thanks!

Question: how did it crack? never heard of that happening

it is fairly simple to change it is just stuck on there by adhesive so work it off slowly with fishing line or something like that and tape off a fairly large area with masking tape.

I garage door came down on it and it cracked, I'm actually lucky that was the only damage.

If I order a new one, will it come with the adhesive already attached? Or did you have to apply that yourself?

no idea how it comes. I took mine off to wrap my roof so i replaced it with 3m tape. if it comes with the adhesive then great if not 3m tape works perfectly fine. just get the thinnest one possible.

Sorry to dig up and old thread. Did you get a replacement and manage to install it easily? Someone ripped mine off yesterday (looks like they used a screw driver judging by the dent in the metal work) and I am looking to replace it. Looks like it could cost a lot in a stealer.

Contact IND, they quoted me $80 USD (so ~40 GBP?) painted/shipped in the US for a new shark fin.
