adjustable sway bar links
Does anyone know if there is a company making these for the e92 M3? My mechanic says the factory ones are plastic, non-adjustable and total crap which is causing a clanking noise when I go over bumps.

Um, the factory front sways are cast aluminum, weight optimized, and are no way plastic...
I also have GC adjustable sways. Pretty solid design, but heavier vs. OE. Ask your mechanic why he thinks the sway links are clunking... From your sig you have Dinan springs? There is no way that a properly installed kit would make a clanking noise. |

the oem sway bar links are non adjustable and have plastic in the ball joint part that swivels. I'm not a technical guy (i.e. I'm not trying to undermine anyone's knowledge here) but i can personally say the guy that mentors me in regards to all mods is a very experienced BMW owner and racer who has owned multiple BMW's all the way from 2002's to e46 race cars spanning 30+ years. Our mechanic was a head tech and engineer on BMW race teams in the 1970's and still works on the cars. He showed me an OEM sway bar link and there is plastic in the component. My car was taken to two different dealerships and they both confirmed the loud metal clanking that occurs on both sides and went through a number of troubleshooting procedures. they both said its likely the crummy non-adjustable oem sway bar link and its happening under load on either side of the car (especially when hitting road reflectors). My mechanic also echoed this opinion and recommended I try the adjustable versions. We will see........

I think that the clanking noise the OP are experiencing is the springs not sitted correctly on the sturts. The sway bars will not make the noise unless the tech did not put them correctly. I got H&Rs on my car and I do not have any noise coming out of my suspension what so ever. Just my 0.02cents

springs are seated correctly. Already checked. Again..... I'm not saying I'm an expert here at all. I also don't need the attitude buddy. This is supposed to be a friendly forum. I will be sure to report back after the install.

I don't think there is any attitude here; some of us are simply sceptical of your mechanic's concusion given our experience with lowering springs and the OEM end links . . . . You might want to get a second opinion, that's all.

Test it by disconnecting one side of each bar, then switch.
