Question Recall for E9x M3 (2011 Model Specifically)?

I'm in the process of looking for a used E90 M3 (2009-2011). I've noticed that there is a recall for these E9x M3 years. However, I can't exactly pinpoint what the recall is for. I'd like to verify this so when I go to the dealership, I can check with them whether the recall has been addressed.

I've searched the forum about this topic, but have come up with few results. If any owners can clarify this for me I'd appreciate it. From what I've found, the recall for the E9x M3 (2009-2011) is a software update that must be done? Am I right? Or is the recall something else?

Yeah I've been looking at a lot of 2011s lately. All the CarFax say 'Ask your Dealer' under Factory Recalls but I asked my dealer and they said there were not any.

Believe there's a recall on "emissions" for at least some 2011's.

There is a recall for certain 2011 e90 M3s. My late build e90 has it, but it's only an emissions label swap. Apparently the one on mine is wrong and I received a notice in the mail.

I'm not aware of any other recalls.

Just had it in the shop checking on a CA issue. Asked the SM who was in touch with Munich...no recalls or updates at this time.

I think you mean the DCT firmware update but that was not a recall just an upgrade. Only applies if you got the double clutch tranny.

These days manufacturers will reprogram your car to workaround post-production design issues if they can without your knowledge to avoid a costly recall even if that means the car is not going to perform at the edge of its advertised capability. There have been filed lawsuits of owners around bi-turbo bmw engines before. But no known problem yet with the NA E9x M3 !
Good luck F80...

No recalls that I am aware of ...

Besides, you should not worry with a 4 year warranty BMW will let you know

If you are getting a used one privately you should have it checked out at BMW if you are getting it from a BMW dealer then they will look after it for you if there was one.

Darn, you mean my late 2011 e90 ISN'T really an "SULEV"?

After some searching, I did find that it was a recall having to do with DCT equipped cars. But there's nothing I can find to confirm it.

CarFax has never been reliable....fail!

Not sure if you guys have heard about the M Cars getting stolen in minutes over here via key cloning and via obd port? Bmw has an update for this but it will probablybe cracked again
