Thinking of Upgrading
I have an 2009 space grey carbon roof, w/ black leather and carbon leather trim, 19" wheels e92, and DCT (only 3,900 miles on it). It is fully loaded - the only non-roof related boxes not checked were the rear back-up sensors and smart-phone integration.
I am thinking about upgrading to the latest vintage including the competition package and maybe the same color and features - adding the back-up sensoirs and smart-phone integration. I may go with a different color (may be custom a color) just to have it feel new. Have others made this upgrade to the competion package? How much difference is there in the handling performance of the slightly lower ride and slightly wider track? Do you feel it was a material step up? I realize that this is not a very wise upgrade from a economic perspective; however, I have accepted that point if the handling difference is considered a reasonable step up. Thanks in advance for the insight! |

Don't waste your money. If you're tired of the M3, get another car

The difference is minute man, and you already have an '09, with the new iDrive and if built in 10/08 or later, new engine bearings. Just keep it, or get something else. Good luck.

Thanks for the comments. I think I will stick with my '09.
I truly enjoy the car, and since I don't drive it in the winter, it almost seems like getting a new car when I get it back out in the spring. |

Try adding the Dinan suspension kit (you get get the setup and install done at Eurowerkz), gives you the same (net of the EDC programming) suspension as ZCP, a set of ZCP wheels and if you really want to upgrade, add the '11 taillights. Then make it over to Mid American Motorplex for a Fast Friday and drive it the way BMW intended

definitely not worth it for the ZCP considering how minute of a difference it makes. you can get KWV3's or a Dinan stage 3 and you'd have a better suspension set up than the ZCP right out of the box. Then add a set of wheels of your choice. when you think of how much it would cost to trade your car in for a new one, it would save you a lot of money to just mod your '09.

Take all the money you were going to spend on trading it in and mod the heck out of your existing 09. That would provide noticeably better feel and performance than upgrading to a 2011 w/ competition pkg.
