Anyone running MPE+catless?
Split betwern akrapovic slip-on and MPE.. both sound good but the latter is from the factory!
As I have catless on, I want to go with the one that drones less. Any experience running this setup?

This is off topic, but do you know which exhaust brand makes MPE? I've been wondering for a while.

i have MPE with challenge sport X-pipe, and I couldn't be happier. I had heard/ read horror stories of MPE with anything other than stock X, but the sport X pipe has high flow secondary cats and resonators, so it keeps the rasp in check. I bought the car and it had a resonated fab speed x pipe (just the X, still had primary cats), and I wanted the performance and a little more noise of ridding the primaries. Couldn't be happier and no plans to revert. Hope that helps a little... and see the awesome video above for exotic music! Nothing else sounds like MPE if you want to close your eyes and hear a faint ferrari note.

I have a agency rear with test pipes primaries removed, I was thinking about removing secondaries or moving to a straight pipe. do you guys have any recommendations? I am in VA so i cant go to loud. I love the sound of my current set up but I would like a bit more.

Is it true that this xpipe increases the volume while keeping rasp at a minimum? Can you provide us a recording? |

There is a slight increase in rasp, but the high pitch exotic tone is still there and not diminished. It is a bit louder, but I always mod my cars with this thought in mind... Could I drive this car on a date and pull up to a valet and not be embarrassed that it looks/ sounds like boy racer central. I think having the resonators and high flow 2nd cats keep things in check nicely. I will try to get a video for you all but it won't be until next week. It is not my daily and I'm working late and through the weekend this week.

I'm sold... I can't do boy racer! Too bad Challenge no longer sell these. I now wonder if there is an equivalent offering. I haven't found any videos with resonated test pipes either. |

I had the MPE v1 with catless xpipe and the sound can only be described as.. raspy. If you go catless, make sure you have plenty of resonators to keep the rasp in check. That said it sounded good and my only complaint was it was still too quiet when cruising. I switched to the borla ATAK which is louder in every way while still keeping drone to a minimum. It's nice to hear the S65 when cruising, just without the drone.

I run an MPE with a catless x pipe and the sound is perfect. Zero drone and extremely manageable around down. When you get on and the sound it produces is exactly why we love these v8's.
