Gintani e85 ftw!

Well guys the car woke the F up. We started at 333hp stock. We are currently on Gintani's full E85 tune. The car has the basics. Intake, x-pipe, exhaust, and underdrive pulley. We are now sitting at 393hp. 7 more to go to be apart of that elusive 400 club. We had done two pulls and the cable on our four post lift literally snapped and that was the end of our runs. Hopefully Monday with the fans hooked up and nice cool day we break that 400hp ceiling.

Big shout out to the guys at EAS for dropping the new motor in and another big shout to Alex at Gintani for getting my files to me as quickly as possible.

Also thanks for everyone's input on my last post about the car not taking to any modifications. Working on BMW's is fairly new to me so I'm thankful for all your advice.

Very nice results. I'm debating Ginatni or RK for an E85 tune. Seems like the RK is a little cheaper even with the optional tablet to change maps on the fly.

That's amazing! What was the car's whp before the full e85 tune?

Before e85 we pulled 372 out of it before calling it a night.

If you go with RK post it up I'd like to see the difference. My experience with the Gintani guy was fairly pleasant. We had a few hiccups but Alex took care of them quickly as possible. Cars a different animal on E85 though.

I have an E85 station on my way to the office every day. E85 is plentiful in south Florida which makes me want to switch. My current 91 pump gas tune from Turner is leaving some room on the table.

Good gains but you are running DIN, which is maybe 1.5% higher than the common SAE. This means you really are at about 387-88 rwhp SAE and have about 12-13 rwhp to go to hit 400 rwhp. EAS often gives out STD numbers, which are a little over 2% higher than SAE to show higher numbers to those who don’t know any better but this is the first chart of theirs that I have seen in DIN.

E85 is the way to go to maximize power if tuned, whether NA or FI.

Awesome numbers Harman! Only 7hp away, hopefully a few more runs you can crack the 400 mark.

This isn't EAS's dyno this is ASP's dyno. Different shops.

I have a drop in filter. I'm going to put the same one you have in and see if that makes a difference.

Over 20% drivetrain loss for a rwd manual is huge though

I doubt it. 333whp is not an average stock baseline. Not from a good running car.

That's if you believe 414hp is accurate from bmw. look at all the under-rated cars in BMW's line-up. Cough, the new M4/3. BMW just rounds up or down to wherever they feel works with their marketing and sales goals.

Have you guys looked at the Dyno Database?

This was a common number back in the early days when cars were very new. 240E update brings about 10rwhp to where most cars dyno stock today.

Even given this new info 333rwhp is doesn't fall outside 1 standard deviation from the mean = very common.
