As far as the OP's school. Screw that.

The reason there is such a push for breast cancer research is because after lung cancer (which is obviously and easily avoided) it is far and away the most common in women (1 in 4)

There are also signs of a similar "push" for prostate cancer research, which (again, excluding lung cancer) is the most common in men (1 in 3). Breast cancer is more visible at the moment in the sense of donations made by purchasing unrelated products and even an entire NFL weekend. Prostate cancer awareness and donation efforts seem to be more limited to "mens" products. If I'm not mistaken (paraphrasing a conversation I had last weekend with an MD) while screening age for both is the same (40) onset of breast cancer is statistically younger than that of prostate cancer

Besides, photocopying textbooks is hardly the benchmark in determining whether a school deserves $250k for computer labs. LOTS of people in colleges don't even buy the textbooks, doesn't mean the students/colleges deserve money from Pepsi.

Why don't you tell us WHY your school needs this money because I agree with the above poster that another school deserves this money more.

You can do it once a day, it would help if you did as frequently as possible.
I'll be gone by the time the school sees this money - But it would be nice to see them get some new stuff despite the massive budget cuts and district waste.
