FS / WTT: MY 2011 OEM 18's (silver)

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
ok so here is the skinny. i have an e90 m3 on order which arrives at the end of the month. MY 2011 rims are silver which i am not a fan of and can't believe bmw doesn't notify of change when ordering a car (/rant). i would like to trade for a set of OEM 18's in gunmetal. i am not looking for rubber or tpms as i will have brand new of both.

not sure if a price needs to be posted so lets say 2k local only

I don't have them any longer the dealer swapped them at no cost because the change was made unannounced to my build date. thanks for the interest.

Can you elaborate on that? When did you pick your car up even?

I took delivery of my car in May of 2010, was one of the first MY 2011 M3's and definitely had the silver wheels snuck in on me. Dealership said they really had no control over it since OEM equipment could change at their leisure.

If you just picked your car up, how could you or the dealership not have known? Maybe I'm misunderstanding what your situation is.

sounds like you were in the same boat as i was. i ordered mine april 20th 2010, took delivery june 1st 2010. a notice was issued to the dealers that the change was made and they would swap them out at no cost. BMW ate the cost not my dealer. i had the silver wheels for about a week. this thread only just popped back up yesterday but look at the original post date, "05-09-2010 05:43 PM". call BMW NA as this was the bulletin that was issued to the dealers

"Reflecting requests for a brighter finish on the M3 standard 18” wheel, BMW is pleased to announce the launch of the new Reflex Silver finish for the style M219 standard 18” wheel installed on the M3 Coupe, Convertible and Sedan.

The previous style M219 wheel with the dark graphite finish is no longer available for the M3 through production orders. The base prices for the Model Year 2011 M3s remain unchanged. Cars ordered before May 18, 2010 will have the original graphite wheel."

Wow, wish I had heard this a year ago. I think it's probably too late to do anything about it now. hah

Oh well.
