ADV 7.1

So I just got in some ADV 7.1. Wondering what people think when I say the front wheels are 27.7 lbs and 28lbs in the back.

The sizes are 19x11 and 19x9.5, monobloc, with M3 offsets (no idea on the actual number).

I have some phone pics too of the wheels on a scale.

Think that's way too heavy. I'd be looking for wheels closer to 20lbs not 30...

But then again if u r buying wheels for weight (for our cars) it would mean u r likely buying them for the track and in that case would likely be buying 18" wheels not 19" to save a bit on rubber.

If u r buying wheels and don't track then u r likely buying first for aesthetic appearance and taste then for weight so I say if u r happy with the way they look then love em and put em on the car and show u pics

The wheels are absolutely gorgeous! My favorite no doubt As for tracking? Not too often, but I try to cut down as much weight as possible since I drive a cabrio lol and it is HEAVY!

Are your wheels deep or mid concave or fairly flat? Please post pictures. The wheels will get heavier as the concavity increases.

Mid concave. I called ADV and asked. They said it was normal and based on design.

Of course ADV said it was normal. My eyeball says the wheels are a bit heavy for the concavity compared to other forged wheels such as the Morr's. Hopefully they are very strong. There is very little ADV weight info out there. Thanks for letting us know your results.

+1 Definitely on the heavy side for forged monoblock wheels with that style, dia and widths.

That's weird because these weigh more than my 20" adv.1 adv10's. Maybe just the spoke design caters more towards a heavier wheel.

If those are forged monoblock wheels, they must be strong as hell! Provided that they are made from good forgings...

I think so too. They said theADV5.1 could easily come under 25 lbs, and maybe 3+ lbs lighter with the SL line. I almost want to sell my wheels and reorder lol.

They said that these wheels are made to general weight ratings, and then when you choose the weight reducing options (extra cutting and stuff) they trim it to your specific weight requirements, leading me to believe that the weight rating on them now is pretty damn high.

The weight is fine for the design. There are other concave variations on the market that are less weight but not as 'concave'.

It all depends on what you are using the car for, etc. I have ran a few different ADV1 wheels on personal cars as well as been in other cars with them. Some of the Deep Concave are a little heavier but still drive fine.

Obviously i'm going to say the weight is fine but honestly there is nothing to worry about in terms of performance and more important drivability. There are other options for those who want to weigh in less but when it comes to a 20" concave wheel it isn't likely.

For the record! I love these wheels to death ...everything about them is perfect! From the finish, to the smoothness, detail, everything. And had I known they would be this heavy I would have still ordered them and also put some weight reduction. And to back up Omar, it is the design of the wheel, with that many spokes, and the size of the "backpad?" for the M3 offsets, and the concavity that make it that heavy. More material is more material regardless of how you cut it

OP, I'm very sorry if you feel you were misinformed in anyway. Every wheel varies in weight and while this wheel is a little on the high side, we do offer options like back pad pocketing, spoke pocketing, and titanium hardware where applicable. That would reduce about ~5-7 pounds depending on the wheel. Please email me if I can be of any assistance to you at all. Tony@adv1wheels.com

Thank you and I'm sorry again.
