I can't believe what transpired during tonights game. Even though we traded "Roli" I still felt for him, and was looking for him to win the coveted Lord Stanley.

Jesus the Rangers have made some good pick ups this off-season, just adding Brendan Shanahan to the line up

. After already adding Matt Cullen and a much needed leader in the defense department, Aaron Ward from the Hurricanes.

Damn cant wait for next season. Should be another exciting year. Just hope Shanahan doesn't choke like most of the veterens that come to NY....then again at least he's not injury prone like the rest of them (ahem Lindros and o yes Bure).

I've always liked Shanhan's playing style.. we finally get some grit!!

Just got back from NYC yesterday, and had an opportunity to take in my first game at MSG.

Unfortunately for the Rangers, Sid the Kid lit them up. Good atmosphere at the Garden, but there are two things wrong with the stadium as a whole. The slope of seating bowl is too small and where I was sittling (300 level), it was too far from the ice surface. That damn walkway just above ice also makes it difficult to see into the corners when combined with the gentle pitch of the bowl. Anway, the Rangers have a very talented team, but there are still too few players with birth certificates from NA to give them enough grit, although Shanahan and Ward will help.

Bruins svck this year... They looked really good last night - first period against the Islanders, probably the best period of hockey I've seen them play so far this year. The rest of the game was downhill from there though..

The neutral zone trap is nothing new, Lemaire knows from experience (11 stanely cups) that defense wins championships. As long as he coaches the Wild, defense will be our focus. That's not to say we won't score goals, we've scored 19 goals in five games.

P.S. Too bad the Oilers choked last year, atleast you have a real goalie from a real team. Being a dual Canadian/American citizen, I was routing for a Canadian team to win. I use to live in Calgary, so I wasn't a huge Oilers fan, but I wanted them to win. Oh yeah, without Pronger (Defense), you guys don't stand a chance this year.
