Hey guys I have a pair of blizzaks lm-60 in 225/40r18 from my old 335. Would they work on the fronts of the oem 219m rims (8.5" width) they fit on my 335i rear rims and they were 8.5" wide but will the 225/40s be too small in overall diameter to work on the e92 m3? It's a shame if not since they're barely used.

Alright, just read all 21 pages of this thread and there is a wealth of information

This is my conclusion for my winter set:

Wheels

• Avant Garde BMW Type M359 ZCP Style 18 inch Wheels (Matte black )
• Front: 18x8.5 ET15 (23.5 lbs)
• Rear: 18x9.5 ET22 (25.5 lbs)

Tires

• Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D
• Front: 235/40R18
• Rear: 255/40R18

A few questions to confirm this should be kosher

1. For Canadian M3s what is the process regarding TPMS? Do I have to buy a kit? I read somewhere on here that there is a difference between American and Canadian vehicles when it comes down to the TPMS.
2. For the rear, a 255 tire on a 9.5 rim should be fine, right?
3. This setup should be up to OEM BMW standards and not mess up speedo, aspect ratios, etc

Any input would be greatly appreciated and if there are any pics of this winter setup, well, needless to say, I would love to see it

EDIT: just want to ensure this setup will work since I want to place my order for the tires ASAP on TireRack before they run out of stock...

I can't answer the TPMS question but I don't run it on my winter set. Regarding the other questions, 255 on a 9.5 works well, just don't expect a lot of rim protection but it shouldn't be stretched. Your speedo should be fine, just slightly over-reading (due to minimally shorter tires) but not by much.

Hey, haven't checked this thread in a while. Thanks for the reply. I ended up ordering this setup but switched from the Dunlops to the Blizzaks LM32. Of course, will post pics once the winter setup is on the car.

Yes it works, but go with 245/40/18 square and you'll want spacers.

Hey guys the new Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 looks very promising. Currently I am running on stock continentals and I have seen a decent wear. I can't decide between a set of A/S 3 or snow dedicated tires. So far the reviews give me the impression that A/S 3 handles extremely well in dry sessions. They even outperformed some summer tires. So for the people who have made a switch to A/S 3 from stock summer tires, did you notice a significant decrease in performance and steering feel? If the A/S 3 really affects the driving feel, I might just get winters tires and summer tires later.

I placed my order Monday, UPS attempted the first delivery yesterday (but I was at work) and I got them Wednesday. Holy shit balls that was fast.

I can't PM you, so I'll ask and hope you check this posting. In the interest of winters, I have an E92 Comp M3 and can't find a used set I want to purchase. If I put rubber on my current ZCP wheels for the winter, I need guidance. I live in Portland & it's mostly wet, but will get some ice and occasional light snow here - a few inches at the most then it's gone in a few days. I'm not sure Blizzak LM-60's would serve me well with so little snow in the Pacific Northwest. After reading the forum, PA4's sound closer to what I may need - you can interject here. Problem is, I don't think they sell your suggested sizes to fit on ZCP wheels without stretching: 255/35R19 front & 275/35R19 rear, do they? Am I stuck with running LM-60's on ZCP wheels if I don't purchase a second winter set of rims?

You're right, they don't make the right sizes for ZCP.

You could potentially get a 285/35 rear 255/35 front but that's pushing the diameter a bit tall in the rear and is pretty wide for a winter tire. Check out Dunlop wintersport 3D and Pirelli Sottozero Serie II in addition to the LM60. The Dunlop would be my preference for performance winter in ZCP sizes. I'm not sure why the Dunlop 4D doesn't come in more than 1 19" size.

I have these lying around from my 2010 Carrera 4S and was wondering if they would fit on my ZCP 19" wheels, OEM brakes & suspension (competition).

Pirelli Sottozero 295/30/19 & 235/35/19

I know they aren't the ideal size but I would rather not buy a new set unless necessary. Won't be driving in snow much, just cold weather. Currently on PSS.

Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I have 19 inch wheels in my e90 M3 and I want to buy ContinentalExtremeContact DWS(Ultra High Performance All-Season) tires, but they only come in 245/35ZR19 sizes for the front wheel. I don't see the 265/35ZR19 size for rears.

Can I match them with 265/30ZR19 93Y on the rear wheels? I understand that my speedometer will be slightly of, but what are the other potential disadvantages of that setting?

Or maybe 275/35ZR19 is the better choice, but will it fit on OEM size wheels (9.5 inch wide)? If so, would it be better yet to match them with 255/35ZR19 in front (on 8.5 inch rims)?

You are correct there is no 265/35R19 DWS.

255 front 275 rear will fit on your existing wheels and will have the best match front to rear. 245 front 275 rear would work fine, and is better if you have lowering or spacers in front and are concerned about rubbing.

Please note that while the DWS is good in the winter for an all season tire, it is NOT a true winter tire. It works in winter, but is not a specialist.

The winter lineup will start to fill in during the late summer, and I'll have a better feel for what is available. I will post another update to this thread with the primary 2014 options.

Thx for the answer. I live in Charlotte, NC area. We have no true winters here - last year we had snow for two days. For me good all season tires are better choice, especially that I have two sets of wheels.

Summer tires are getting hard and less sticky when temperature is below 50, so for those 3-4 cold months I can switch to all season tires. When I move back to Poland one day, I'll go with full winter tires - if I find them in that size.
