Pressure * Volume = number of moles of gas * universal gas constant * temperature. All gases abide by this law. There is no variation in the law for different gasses; be they nitrogen, oxygen, helium, air, etc. If the volume stays constant and the temperature changes the pressure will change proportionally. Stop reading promotional copy and listening to uneducated opinions and open a physics book. But, on the other hand, if some dude from Fairbanks writes to a magazine and says the Gas Law does not apply to nitrogen then I suppose all those physicists could be wrong… Last edited by Dave2; 12-08-2010 at 04:55 PM.. |

I'm not a chemist but I believe that nitrogen doesnt expand and contract as much based on heat like other gasses.

Read this:
http://home.comcast.net/~prestondrak..._tires_FAQ.htm Don't post any more crap about nitrogen responding differently than air to heat before reading it. WTF will be next.... grounding kits.... Last edited by Dave2; 12-09-2010 at 06:30 PM.. |

DAVE IV: Good job waving the "bullshit flag" on the nitrogen thing. I actually never believed it myself, regardless of the half-ass post above.
Everything on the topic I read stated pretty clearly that there is practically no deviation between nitrogen and common air as far as Volumetric Thermal Expansion. For a nice laugh though, check out this crap: http://www.getnitrogen.org

The local nitrogen filling station is making a tempting offer. With each nitrogen fill they are giving away a free DVD rewinder. This may be hard to pass up...

If F1 uses it and has tested it...then I don't really think anyone has a claim against it.
