stock M3 manuel 1/4mile: 12.807 @ 109mph

I don't know what was in the air last night but after many many runs on many different days last year with an identical set-up(AD08s 295/30/19) , my best time was 13.1 and my best trap was 111mph on a 13.2 run. But that changed last night when I went at the track for the first time of the year with absolutly no expectations towards my car, I was more there to see my friend with his new EvoX stg2! Anyway, first run of the night, I equalled my best time of 13.1, I was happy but still had no expectations of beating it since I was trapping slow. Second run, new best time; 12.9, then I was really happy ,that was totaly unexpected. At that point I was really thinking that I had achieved the best I could ever do but I decided to go again to try it in with the EDC in confort mode. So finally, 3rd run; 12.8 !!

It's not to hard to understand why I improved my time from last year , my best 60foot has always been 2.1 and last night I managed to do a 2.0 on my 12.9 run and a 1.9 on my 12.8 run, but what i did different to achieve such a good launch is still a mistery exept maybe for the confort mode! Anyway I immedietly knew when I dropped the clutch it was a good launch, the car instantly gripped instead of spinning like usual!

In the end I'm more then happy with that time, I have never seen a stock M3 non-DCT running in the 12s , I knew it was possible but I always thought the track here was to shity to achieve such a good launch on street tires, I know my tires are really wide and sticky but on the other hand, they slow my car up a bit compared to the stock 265s!

Wow that's a nice time and what's funny is your trap speed was 2 mph slower than your slower time.

By the way is that a space grey with black competition wheels? I just ordered another M3 and this time I went Space Grey with fox red interior and matte black competition wheels. Went DCT this time.

Should be getting it in July

That is stupid fast for stock. That car needs to be dyno'd. I think you got a hot one.

Wasn't the M3 supposed to be 12.7 stock for a 6Mt back when it was released and around 12.4 on the DCT? With a skilled 1/4 mile driver.

Thanks and no that's not Space gray it's Sparkling graphite, they only made it in 08 for the M3, here's an other pic that shows the color a bit better!

Congrats on your new ride, it must be hard to wait till July! I bet you wont have any problems running in the 12s with a DCT!!

Oh and by the way , my interior is Fox red , you'll love it !!

I don't remember those numbers when released but I guess they could be just about right. Do give him some credit though, his car is over 4 years old.

Funny you say that , I'm putting it on a dyno probably next week mostly just for fun but also to compare with my friends G35 turbo that made 370whp on that same dyno , after that we'll go see what it says on the highway , I'll make sure to post my numbers!

My bad. Some folks actually have '08's that were very late 2007, early 2008 builds. I'd still love to know what that car dyno'd when new.

I think 12.7 is probably possible since 12.806 is pretty close to it but on the other hand , 1.915 is far better then any 60foot I had done before, I can't see myself doing a better launch then that!

Go Dyno it at the place in Ile Bizard. This way you will have my friends and my Dyno runs to compare to.

My Dyno was with all mods on. AA Ecu, AA catless x-pipe,AA muffler and AA pulley. Its a wheel hub Dyno and I came in at a tad over 401 who at 8k rpm. The guy didn't set it to 8300

He also has a stock file of my friends E90 M3 2008.

Talking about a hot one , I think your's is too , 400whp at only 8k with simple bolt-ons is VERY good!! Do you think those kind of dynos tends to read a bit higher then convensionnel dynos !? If I do 350whp I'll be very happy since my friend did 370 at 14psi on a G35 turbo, that's a lot of boost!

You know the place I'm talking about in Ile Bizard? Of not I can get you the number.

It's on the high end but not the highest if you go to the dynosheet database. I used the gear and ratio recommended on the thread done years ago by pencil geek.

My friend with the E90 had the EXACT same mods as me except he had the stock exhaust. His Dyno was a mirror image of mine except the last 1000 or so RPM where his restricted stock exhaust peaked him at about 386whp so the freer flowing aftermarket exhaust helps at the very high end.

Maybe I'll go back there and Dyno my DCT when I get it. Thinking of just doing a pulley, HFC'S, exhaust and
ESS tune.

By the way I love your color. My friends E90 2008 is also the same color but black interior.

My 08 was alpine white on Fox red. I love fix red.

I don't know the place in Ile Bizard but the dyno I'll go is 2min away from my job so it's perfect since I want to put it back on when I'll get the Turner test pipes and a tune, that is IF there's ever some test pipes again! Thanks for the offer !

I'd say you're up there as one of the fastest.

Here's the thread unfortunately I don't see any bone stock M3 on it.

I ran a 13.067s @ 110.22mph: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=693964

- Stock E90 M-DCT
- 275/35R19 Continental ExtremeContact DWS on 220M wheels
- 3785lb
- Transmission: D5 and Traction Control: MDM
- No launch, just floored throttle from idle

I've been out there twice and did 11 runs total... really wanted 12s but couldn't crack it. My observations:

- Transmission: S5-S6 was 0.1s SLOWER than D5. D5 shifted at ~8k rpm and was very smooth; S5-S6 I would click the paddle at ~82-8300rpm and each change was jerky.

- MDM was consistently faster for me; just mash and go and get your 13.3s -> 13.0s, even lower if I was running summer tires (probably get my 12s then).

- I'm sure I can also get another couple of 10ths if I were able to launch from a higher RPM than idle. Unfortunately I can't do that with M-DCT without using Launch Control. Tried LC once but the track was slick by then, so ended up with close to 3s 60ft and almost ran into the wall

Also, what RPM did you launch at?

You could easily shave off a good tenth with a better reaction time, but that 60' is pretty impressive. Well done! Even with wider tires, I still would've thought to see the trap speed over 110 mph

I did a couple of 111mph traps last summer but not this year yet. I went to the 1/4 mile again last week-end and I did plenty of 1.9 60foots but as soon as the sun went down I was having a hard time getting out of the hole. But that day all the cars were trapping less then usual, me also , I did a couple of 13.0 and my best trap was 108mph, but next time, if the weather is favorable, I'm going for 12.7 at 110-111mph, hoppefully!!

Oh and also, I would'nt bet my life on it, but I'm absolutly positively pretty sure that the reaction time does'nt affect your ET!
