M3 Top came down today

Well, we hit 69F briefly today in Louisville, so the top came down. Time to hear the S65 in all it's glory.

Pics show off recent car wash and my black vinyl trim that I had installed shorty after delivery. For more pics of the vinyl, see my post in the Cosmetic forum

Good point..

How difficult are they to install and from where do you suggest I buy them?

Plan also to do the black chrome exhaust tips

Looking good. No need to go overboard with the cosmetic mods; this car looks great right from the factory!

You can buy them from IND and its pretty easy to install. There are also videos on youtube showing how to install them.

Btw, I did a DIY install on my vinyl trim and experienced some small leaks afterwards... Resolved after using swissvax seal feed. Do you use anything on your rubber seals???

I grin every time I see this quote from the guys who aren't kidding. I've driven and owned every kind of BMW over many years. As great as the e92/90M is, the e93M is no slouch. What BMW did to a convertible and maintain M'ness is staggering.

No, not a thing.. and top has been tight as a drum. I paid the labor to have experienced pros do the install. Perhaps that has something to do with it. I love it.

Lucky you! Trading my 08 Evo MR for an e93 next weekend. Hopefully it'll warm up a bit in Western New York. Will probably be a few more weeks still. I'm not going to be one of those guys riding around with the top down when it's in the 40-50's. Looks ridiculous.

Car looks super ... nice job

Re: DC10 I took the DC10 often (Montreal to Chicago and back) still remember the first time taking off from Chicago in the 70s the captain cut the engines (apparently it was required to reduce noise over the populated area near the Chicago airport). I thought we were done for the plane must have dropped 500 meters at least.

Is the DC10 still in service?

I know the military still flys the DC10 as the KC-10. But as far as commercial? Perhaps the non-scheduled airline, World Airways... I'm not sure.. but I haven't seen a DC10 in a long time.
