spacers and alignment quesiton
So i am at 49800K on my car.
Yesterday i picked up the car from the dealer with(front) new rotors and pads and paid for an alignment. i told them to the alignment because i felt the steering was a little off center. They told me they checked and found nothing wrong. Fine. i drove home (about 20mls) and didn't notice any issues. got home jacked up the car and added 20mm H&R to the fronts (VMR710 8.9width, et 35) This morning, driving in.... the steering is "noticeably" off center.... i searched the forum to see if adding spacers could potentially do that but found nothing... i should add that i found that adding spacers does nothing to the alignment...... did i screw something up or did the dealer? Current plan... drive home (slow) and lose the spacers n see what happens

Spacers won't change alignment unless you didn't install them right.
When you say "off center" is the wheel just not straight or does the car actually pull to one side? |

thanks dude... i was hoping you'd chime in if i center the steering wheel the car goes left... to keep the car going straight i need to have the wheel turning right... if i let if go the car doesn't pull one way or the other... it goes straight but the steering wheel looks like i should be right not sure what i could have done wrong... i thought if i had screwed up the install, ie not mounted the spacer correctly, not torque all the bolts (checked all of them yesterday 90ft-lbs)... the wheels would wobble at 60mph correct ?

You said they didn't find anything wrong and the car was fine on the way home. Might be best to remove the spacers and do some more driving to see if it still happens. |

Make sure your tire pressures are the same from side to side. That would cause a major pull.

It turns out to be the dealer. I when home, took off the spacers and had the same results. I guess when I was come home yesterday I just didn't notice
They are fixing the problem. Thanks everyone who chimed in
