Why are the mirrors non-dimming at the edges?

Have been doing a lot of late night highway driving, and the non-dimming part reflects strong headlights from behind and it really hurts my eyes!

Wondering why there is a non-dimming gap at the edge?

Do you have premium package? I believe ZPP cars have dimming side mirrors.

Btw, post some pics of your car!!

Ya it's weird. Seems like there's a special layer for the dimming part.

At first, I actually thought it was kind of cool that the edges do not dim, but then I started having light reflected at me from the edges. I agree, it is kind of annoying and doesn't make complete sense to me either. My solution - step on the gas and those glaring headlights usually go away pretty fast

Mirrors do dim from what i can tell; however there is a small, maybe half an inch, area surrounding the outer egde that is not covered. If you hit the right light, you can see the light blue film, and the area it covers.

But then when they're not dimmed you'll have a stripe on the outside. Haha.

Haven't done much night driving but sometimes during the day it looks like my two side rear mirrors are tinted but not all the way to the edge then I get out of the car and look at it and it doesn't look like that anymore.
