You mentioned the front brakes are Brembo's. What's on the rear?

I always hear good things about these cars (boss, gt500) except for interior compared to the M3 etc. Unfortunately being a 2 door kills it for me (kids).

Congrats! Any reason why you didn't go with the GT500?

Im more into handling over power. Boss weights less, handles better and is pulling better lap times than the GT500 which shows it must handle quite a bit better cause its down 100hp.

Ive thought about the GT500 before, also with the new one coming out which is an absolute beast. But I didnt want to spend a lot of money and the boss is 45k, not bad at all.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you purchase the car out the door? I mean with taxes, licensing, etc? You could PM me the price if you don't want posting here.

Anyway, I am looking into purchasing a 2013 mustang GT. I also looked at the Boss 302 and have read a lot of good reviews on it. A review coming from a former M3 owner like you really makes my decision harder on whether to get the GT or 302 especially when you said that you liked how the 302 handles better than the M3 at some point in your review.

Btw, very nice purchase man! Can't wait for the trackey review. Any plans for mods?

49,820 out the door. I paid MSRP which was around 44500-45000. I know the dealer I got mine from sold a Laguna Seca for like 30k over sticker (retarded). The santa monica dealers old a regular boss for around 5k over. I know online some paid over sticker but some of the colors that didnt sell well went for 1k under sticker.

I test drove the GT 5.0 right before and I personally would be unhappy in that car. My previous cars were the m3, GT3, C63 and the fact is the GT 5.0 just felt loose and soft to me. The engine is fantastic and fun. But the seats offer no support, although on the 13 GT 5.0 you can get the recaros and the limited slip. But there was too much body roll, pitch and dive. The BOSS is magnificent. Lap times dont really matter to me but they give a clue to a car and the boss is running faster than the M3 so it tells you something. The car is very impressive for the money in terms of performance. And not faster like I hear the old Z06 was, where its fast but uber scary and doesnt give you feed back. The BOSS has tons of feedback, terrific steering, can really tell what the car whats to do and where the limits are

Thanks for the input man. Just have to save up a little more for the Boss 302.

congrats on the boss! I loved mine and still miss it....I have a suspension setup that you'll love on the boss...mm camber plates and h&r rss coilovers for $1k definitely makes the boss razor sharp and the most most neutral handling car I've ever driven on track...

I see, how does it compare to your previous M3 in terms of handling?
Your getting alot of car for 45k.

Similar actually. Minimal understeer, very balanced. The M3 was the first car I started tracking and its been a couple years since I had mine so hard to compare well. But I prefer the boss steering, M3 felt very electronic to me. The car does have more american feel, longer hood which makes it harder to place and takes getting used to the size. But the car is very solid, tons of feedback especially at the limit. The BOSS has more outright grip I think, stock tires 255/285 pirelli p zeros.

Unbelievable car for the $$$. Lays down so great track times from the magazines so far. Supposed to be 2 seconds fast around laguna seca than the M3 apparently. Claimed weight is around 3650lbs.

It's hard to top an SC M3. If you have it enjoy it. Best of Everything. I just don't want to spend that money now so found the boss to be perfect right now. Similar to m3 style handling. And I miss driving stick shift.

At dealer as I write this doing paper work on the boss
If this is true, how the heck did you end up with a C63 after owning an M3 and a GT3?

Congrats on the Boss! It's kinda frustrating to own a car (M3) with very similar performance that costs the better part of twice as much but definitely isn't twice the car even with all things considered!

There was nothing else I wanted at the time. Didn't want to get an m3 again and the engine in the c63 p31 made me smile . I had a lot of fun with that car! Drift monster and still had a blast with it on the track.

I know the rss coilovers go up front. You just use h&r race springs in the rear?

Lol! It's not a rear strut setup on the boss. Forgot what it's called but the springs and shocks are parallel to each other. Not the best setup but ford does offer the option to change to a strut setup off of the boss 302r car. However the rear springs still have a collar so they are height adjustable.

To the op. I would be happy to sell you my setup and install it. Hit me up if your interested.

Be sure and let me know when BMW makes a car that can compete with the Ford GT, won't you? And while you're at it, please inform me when BMW wins LeMans outright, OK?

Sheesh.

BMW makes great cars, mostly, but haters that buy them are both ignorant and annoying.

Like you, for instance.

He's not the only one who did it (check my sig.) from a M3... there are others too.

To the OP: Congrats. Great car, I've considered it and will take another look at it, but just got the C63 3 months ago and it's a 2012 P31 Coupe + LSD with the upgraded suspension and tranny so I need to hold it for a while.

Congrats to you! Love the new coupe! Enjoy the new MCT I hear it's a good improvement. I love the C63. I love many cars, not a brand whore. So I'm just enjoying each for what they are!
